Compass maintains, develops, and innovates within a data integration and analytics platform on cutting-edge, cloud-based technologies to support biomedical research and clinical excellence throughout the CU research enterprise and our hospital partners.Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of the Health Care Analyst is to support and analyze health care data requests and applications on multiple platforms. The Health Care Analyst will contribute to Compass's mission of serving the Anschutz research community, within a HIPAA compliant environment. The Health Care Analyst will support health care investigators, faculty, and staff, internal and external to Compass. A successful Health Care Analyst candidate will own and drive requests and projects to completion, communicate expectations, be a creative problem solver, and write documentation clearly and concisely.Examples of Work Performed
    • Under the supervision of the Associate Director the incumbent will work with Compass staff, as directed, to support customers, applications, and data requests.
    • Independently analyze and troubleshoot requests from customers via email or other platforms for application support, SAS, R, etc.
    • Provide internal and external support with health care applications, including, but not limited to, cohort query tools, such as Atlas or Leaf, and Compass's analytics platform.
    • Escalate customer's technical questions to Compass Staff, when unable to answer, while driving to ensure timely customer feedback loop completes.
    • Follow outlined organizational policies and procedures to fulfill data requests while providing feedback and suggestions to improve processes.
    • Assist project managers with coordinating intake and compliance activities, as needed.
    • Evaluate quality of data requests using sampling and chart review methods.
    • Build relationships internally and externally.
    • Manage, train, and mentor students to ensure professional growth.

      • A bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
      • At least two (2) years' experience with clinical heath care data (e.g. Epic EHR, health care data warehouse, chart reviews).Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications
        • A master's degree in Health Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
        • Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
        • Experience with Epic Hyperspace, Clarity, and/or Caboodle.
        • Experience with statistics/statistical analysis.
        • Experience working in an academic core service or support service.Competencies
          • Excellent customer service skills.
          • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
          • SQL skills for querying data (especially Google Big Query).
          • BI developer skills (e.g. Tableau reports).
          • Extensive experience with clinical data (e.g. EHR proficiencies).
          • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail and accuracy, and strong inter-personal skills.
          • Strong ability to communicate with development teams throughout SDLC lifecycle, ability to support development of BI dashboards and reports, and data analytic initiatives.Salary and BenefitsThe salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $60,329 to $76,739.The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
