FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain a safe environment for operators where safety rules
are followed and injuries are minimized. -
- Lead by example, treat all employees with respect, demonstrate
excellent communication/facilitation skills
- Develop and maintain a team-based performance culture that
strives to achieve daily Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost /
Productivity goals.
- Responsible for managing production operations consisting of
hourly operators working in Sewing, Cutting, Maintenance, Quality
Control, Pack, Ship, and other departments as assigned. -
- Maintain a "zero defects" quality culture where operators
understand their responsibility to produce a quality product;
ensure operators stop and fix defects when identified; implement
root cause solutions to prevent recurring defects
- Achieve daily production output goals by following the
schedule, managing labor, and solving problems/issues that may
develop that limit output. -
- Provide leadership to department leads with direct oversight to
a productive workforce that may range from 30 to 100 hourly
employees. -Current PM staffing is -50 employees with 3 department
leads, however, the number of leads/employees may vary with
seasonal production demands. -
- Partner with operators, peers, and teams to provide training,
coaching, and to solve problems
- Identify improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality,
delivery, and cost/productivity/labor performance. -
- Coach operators and teams on how to solve problems and improve
processes using continuous improvement / lean / six sigma
concepts
- Proactively address issues by anticipating potential problems
and working with individuals, peers, and teams to achieve daily
Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost / Productivity goals
- Ensure your team complies with all company policies (ie:
attendance, safety, security, housekeeping, etc---)
- Provide constructive feedback to employees to improve
performance and address infractions in a professional and timely
manner; document and maintain employee personnel files as
needed.
- Monitor, record, and chart employee quality, labor, and
production output as assigned; Provide a daily update to supervisor
regarding shift performance relative to goals
- Oversee maintenance operators to minimize equipment downtime

- Maintain a secure facility, close the facility and activate the
security system each night.
- Other duties as assignedAUTHORITY:All personnel are responsible
for safety and quality. -Therefore, all employees have the
authority to stop production, if necessary, to correct safety and
quality problems.SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Bilingual/Spanish &/or Chinese is a plus.
- Ability to coordinate multiple personnel on multiple projects
with fast response to changing priorities.
- Basic math and calculator skills.
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
(Work, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
- Prior supervisor experience in a production environment
- Prior experience at leading / coaching teams to solve
problems
- Prior experience with the application of continuous
improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, or Toyota Production System concepts
to develop teams and improve processes -PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience requiredEDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or GED required -
- At least 2 years of college coursework and/or equivalent job
training ( ideally with 3-5 years soft-goods / sewing production
experience).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Needs to have 20/20 or corrected to normal vision.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 to 50 pounds without
assistance.
- Be able to move around the plant environment most of the
shift.
- Must be able to sit or stand for an extended period of
time.
- Must have a full range of motion, including but not limited to
standing, bending, walking, twisting, grasping, reaching and
climbing as necessary to complete job assigned. -This written job
