    Responsible for all workplace health and safety programs as well as the implementation of compliance, programs, and policies related to health, safety and environment.

    PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Advocate for employee health and safety.
    • Provide minor treatment to workers after accidents or injuries.
    • Identifies and implements appropriate safety controls.
    • Lead and support safety initiatives within manufacturing; through communicating and reinforcing the plant safety culture.
    • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety management systems for the location.
    • Assist in the management of workers' compensation program.
    • Facilitate EHS training for site employees and maximize the use of standardized training, includes new employee orientations.
    • Work with necessary resources to assure the Company's environmental compliance, to include maintaining and utilizing ERA Environmental Management Solutions program.
    • Assist with the record keeping, reporting, and maintenance of records to maintain compliance with site regulatory permits.
    • Lead workplace investigation of accidents and injuries, reviews root case, WHS metrics and identifies incident trends and ensures corrective actions are in place to minimize operational risks.
    • Assist management to develop, analyze and provide safety recommendations.
    • Coordinate emergency procedures.
    • Manage and maintain all locally written safety programs and training records to ensure achievement of plant safety metrics and regulatory compliance.
    • Leads the safety meetings to improve internal safety processes.
    • Draft preventative health and safety communications articles for weekly publication.
    • Develop, analyze and provide recommendations on safety data for management review.
    • Perform frequent site audits and maintain OSHA 300 log in compliance with federal, state and local health and safety regulations. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks
    • Special Projects - Initiates and leads special projects to meet corporate objectives engaging closely with other departments and other areas within HR. Leads meetings and/or specialty teams to implement projects or initiatives. Depending on position may assume leadership roles in emergency response up to and including incident command. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
      • Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety engineering, industrial hygiene, or related field; or 5+ years health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
      • Prefer between 3+ years Environmental, Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
      • Demonstrated successful ability to collaborate, influence others and get results through others.
      • Experience in employee training.
      • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
      • Strong organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
      • Must have first aid/CPR certification. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
        • Experience in environmental field.
        • Completed OSHA training courses.
        • Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
        • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certification.
        • Fundamental knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen activities and Six Sigma processes.
        • Experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP).

          Compensation Range: $60,000- $75,000

          INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/BEHAVIORS - Dealing with individuals with a range of moods and behaviors in a tactful, congenial, personal manner so as not to alienate or antagonize them.
