We are looking for a fleet mechanic to join our team! This position is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on our campervan fleet in a safe, efficient, quality minded and customer focused manner.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns and malfunctions in a safe, efficient, and quality manner.Perform operation test prior to repairs to verify complaintDiagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, fuel, and ignition, electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systemsFollow paper-flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, save and tag all warranty and core parts, document all repairs on work order using complaint, cause, and correction format, follow parts ordering/billing proceduresPerform final operational test on all vehicles to verify all repairsPerform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines, in a timely manner to maximize the life and productivity of the vehicles.Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as lubrications, adjustments, cutting tip replacements, and safety inspectionsExamine vehicle to determine if any additional safety or repair work is neededVisually inspect structural integrity of aerial lift equipment and report any deficiencies so that they may be correctedPerform maintenance and repair welding on equipment. Fabricate parts as required including any design work neededInspect for cracks or damage to assess needed repairPerform welding repair to manufacturer's guidelinesAssist with campervan conversion and maintenance processes as necessaryAll other duties as assignedRequirements:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESWorking knowledge of the following makes of vehicles: Ford and JeepKnowledge of engines and controlsKnowledge of transmissions and controlsKnowledge of brakes and suspensionsSkilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on vehicles and equipmentSkilled in welding and cuttingAbility to operate various pieces of equipmentAbility to stand, sit, walk, bend, reachAbility to push/pullAbility to lift /carry up to 100 lbs.Ability to grasp toolsRepetitive motion: wrenchesEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredMust have 2 or more years of experience as a mechanic; fleet mechanic experience strongly preferredMust be 21 year of age and have a clean driving recordASE certifications strongly preferredMust have own tools - lift and air compressor will be providedExtensive experience working on Ford vans strongly preferredThis position offers a GREAT benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
