The Medical Center of Aurora is Metro Denver's first community
hospital to earn two-time Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence
by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and is a
346-bed acute care hospital in Aurora, CO. The Medical Center of
Aurora is comprised of six campus in Aurora and Centennial, CO,
including the Main Campus, North Campus (Behavioral Health and
Wellness Center), Centennial Medical Plaza, Saddle Rock ER,
Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, Spalding Rehabilitation at P/SL
and a medical office building at Green Valley Ranch. The main
campus is a level II trauma Facility with Primary Stroke
Certification and Chest Pain Certification accreditation, serving
the eastern metro area and I-70 corridor. Position Summary: This
position supports the mission of The Medical Center of
Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life
of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on
medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Operates an
echocardiography machine to record and assess wall motion, valvular
function, and kinesis of the heart, for use in the diagnosis of
cardiac disorders and valvular disorders. Assists with Stress
Testing and other non-invasive cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing
procedures upon the request of the physician and according to
departmental demands. Other ancillary duties related to the
position may include, but are not limited to, participation in
Quality assurance projects related to departmental activities,
inventory and stocking of supplies in the various locations that
testing is performed in, entering patient data and charges daily
upon completion of the test, preparing exercise data and related
paperwork for physician interpretation and processing. Position
requires taking call to cover times not regularly staffed by the
department ensuring 24 hour a day echo coverage.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS through AHA or
ARC. RegisteredCardiac Diagnostic Sonographer (or registry
eligible-to be obtained within oneyear of date of hire).
Education: Minimum one yeartechnical training in an approved
AMA/ACCA Sonographer Program with aCertificate of Completion.
Experience: Minimum one year ofrecent Hospital or Clinical
experience preferred.
Special Qualifications: Must demonstratecompetency in all areas of
echocardiography including transthoracic echo,transesophageal echo,
stress echo, and pharmocologic induced stress echo. Musthave
working experience with 3D, TEE, and neonatal. Must have
basicknowledge of 12 Lead EKG interpretation. Must have basic
computer skills. Musthave good team skills. Communication skills
are very important . Must be ableto communicate effectively and
professionally with supervisors, co-workers,peers, patients and
physicians. Demonstrates good organizational and technicalskills.
Provides safe patient care, as well as, displays appropriate
judgmentand problem solving skills.
