Northrop Grumman Space Sector - Payload and Ground Division is
seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Hardware Engineer to work in our
Aurora, CO office.
The primary roles/responsibilities of this role include conducting
research, design, development, and testing of information
processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards,
computer systems, and electrical components. Designing new or
modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for
production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing
solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications. In
this role, the selected candidate must have the ability to work
within a group or independently where collaboration and attention
to detail is critical to mission success. The selected must be able
to work closely with contractors and government customers. The
ability to work in varying weather conditions, and with hand tools
and general construction practices is also needed. Conducts
research, design, development, and testing of information
processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards,
computer systems, and electrical components. Designs new or
modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for
production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing
solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications.
This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the
qualifications listed below.
This requisition may be filled as either a Principal or Sr.
Principal Hardware Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Hardware Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; 3 years with
a Masters; 0 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of related
experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain a Passport.
- Must have prior experience troubleshooting technical problems and
issues developing solutions.
- Must be able to travel -25% of the time.
- Must be capable of performing hardware integration with minimal
supervision.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Hardware Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree and 9 years of related experience; 7 years with
a Masters; 4 years with a PhD. An additional 4 years of related
experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain a Passport.
- Must have prior experience troubleshooting technical problems and
issues developing solutions.
- Must be able to travel -25% of the time.
- Must be capable of performing hardware integration with minimal
supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math,
or related discipline.
- Experience in leadership, leading teams, and providing technical
guidance to other engineers.
- Position prefers a candidate with a current TS/SCI Clearance with
polygraph.
Salary Range: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $109,100 USD - $163,700 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
