The School's faculty are advancing science and health care, through programs that reach urban and rural Coloradans, as well as communities around the world.Job Summary:This position is responsible for independently recruiting and coordinating introductory pharmacy practice experience (IPPE) and advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) preceptors in national and international pharmacy settings to meet the needs of on-campus students participating in a variety of programs.This position provides essential services to the School of Pharmacy and our programs by ensuring a well-developed pipeline of preceptors is in place to provide students optimal experiences throughout their rotations and to meet the needs of our students participating in the following alternative PharmD pathways: entry-level remote, Distance Degrees and Programs (DDP), and Masters of Science in Clinical Pharmacy.Examples of Work Performed:Coordinate IPPE/APPE Preceptor Outreach and Student Support (60%) :
      • Independently recruit and coordinate introductory pharmacy practice experience (IPPE) and advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) preceptors in national and international pharmacy settings to meet the needs of on-campus entry-level students, and students participating in the following alternative PharmD pathways: entry-level remote, Distance Degrees and Programs (DDP), and Masters of Science in Clinical Pharmacy.
      • Establish a surplus of preceptors for circumstances where students may need to be re-matched and/or for future students.
      • Partner with Office of Experiential Programs (OEP) to independently coordinate the Colorado rotation match process for DDP students performing APPEs in Colorado. Partner with DDP to coordinate the rotation site confirmation process for DDP students, who complete rotations outside of the Colorado rotation match process.
      • Manage the IPPE and APPE processes so every student is placed and completes rotations to fulfill experiential program requirements.
      • Own and manage annual international student orientation from implementation to execution.
      • Serve as first point-of-contact for preceptor and student within the rotation planning process and while the student is on rotation. Will collaborate with the assistant directors/deans of experiential programs to resolve any issues or concerns.
      • Centralize on-boarding procedures for all international students and visiting scholars to ensure compliance.
      • Document within the pharmacy rotation management system various components regarding interactions with preceptors and students.Preceptor Development and Evaluation Documentation (30%)
        • Independently and collaboratively (work with the OEP) to create systems to retain IPPE and APPE preceptors in a variety of pharmacy settings, inside and outside of Colorado, by creating a systematic manner to evaluate and develop pharmacy preceptors, such as:
        • Create training and continuing education opportunities.
        • Explore, evaluate and implement innovative mechanisms to enhance preceptor recruitment and retention.
        • Coordinate honorary faculty appointments for external preceptors.
        • Verify preceptor licensure.
        • Perform quality assurance checks of rotation sites to meet national accreditation standards.
        • Gather and maintain preceptor contact data.Manage Excellence as Preceptors and Students Awards Program (5%)
          • Administer the annual awards program, which includes inviting nominations, reviewing nominations and convening a committee to select the DDP and ELPD awardees based on established criteria. Obtain plaques for the winners, notify winners and identify speaker to present awards at graduation. Also attends various preceptor recognition events throughout the year.Manage Documentation of Affiliation Agreements (5%)
            • Independently create, review and negotiate affiliation agreements with pharmacy partners. Collaborate with the legal liaison to ensure all national and international sites have a current agreement.
