The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Come be a part of our mission!We are seeking a Systems Engineer on the Rushmore Program to spearhead modernization efforts for a critical system of national importance. This role will include coordinating changes, baseline management, deliveries and operations of a complex Operations and Maintenance (O&M) phase system.
This position will be based at Buckley Space Force Base, Aurora, Colorado.
What you will get to do:

  • Coordinate software/hardware deliveries from factory and development sources to ensure site standards and waivers are well communicated
  • Manage software and documentations baselines while coordinating updates and reviews
  • Facilitate and promote the programs Risk, Issue and Opportunity process
  • Review proposed systems changes for a variety of inter-related programs to determine potential impacts and facilitate implementation across an international enterprise
  • Orchestrate arrival processes for temporary support personnel for major milestones and act as location POC for current restrictions and policies
  • Develop new tools and processes for improving efficiency
  • Pursue operational certification and collaborate on documentation process management
  • Work with a small team that is highly energized and has a large program impact This position may be filled as either a Level 2 or Level 3 Systems EngineerBasic Qualifications:
    • Level 2: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with at least 2 years systems engineering experience; 0 years with a Masters
    • Level 3: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with at least 5 years related experience; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD
    • ttention to detail and an eye for continual improvement
    • Linux familiarity
    • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and Polygraph
    • The ability to obtain a United States PassportPreferred Qualifications:
      • Familiarity with government acquisition and delivery processes
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Comfortable with programs in an O&M phase
      • Experience with document and software baseline management processes and tools
      • Project Management experience
      • A familiarity with operational spacecraft systems
      • Ability to work occasional 12 hour shifts, 5:30am to 5:30pm in support of mission requirements Salary Range: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD
        Salary Range 2: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD

        Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
