The team partners with clinical programs, evaluation, accounting and other departments to design and implement grant projects that align with and support the strategic initiatives of the agency. The team coordinates grants from private, local government, state and federal funders that support program across Aurora Mental Health Center, Asian Pacific Development Center, and Aurora Research Institute.About the role.The Grant Specialist is responsible for supporting AuMHCs revenue-enhancing strategies in grant-seeking/grant-managing, philanthropic development, and community engagement. The position conducts prospect research for grant opportunities; drafts inquiries, proposals and reports; supports grant implementation and monitoring, records and manages information related to grants and prospects; develops and facilitates efficient project management and information management strategies; collaborates effectively with partners internal and external to the organization; represents AuMHC in communications, meetings and events related to the foregoing.** NOTE: This is a grant-funded, term-limited role slated to end on, or around, April 30, 2022.Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify and qualify prospective sources of funding from public (government), private (philanthropic), and corporate sources.
  • Write and/or coordinate the writing of grant proposals, meeting all requirements and deadlines.
  • Prepare proposals and reports, and any other required follow-up for grants.
  • Work with appropriate program, evaluation and finance staff to identify and collect information required for proposals and reports.
  • Understand and comply with grant administration policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure administrative compliance with the terms of all grants, including accurate and timely preparation of grant reports, and interim and final reports.
  • Maintain internal reporting systems and historical records.
  • Coordinate implementation of grant projects and conduct ongoing monitoring of expenditures and progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Represent AuMHC during grant-related site visits, interviews, and presentations, as well as at other community engagement events.
  • Prepare and produce other information resources as necessary to support revenue-enhancing strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.About you.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with strong organizational, writing, and project coordination skills. The ideal candidate has experience with grant writing and reporting, with preferred experience working with government grants or in the healthcare field.Requirements:
    • Bachelors degree, preferably in humanities, social sciences or business; Masters degree preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a position with primary responsibilities in some mix of grants, philanthropic development, information management and project management.
    • Federal or state government grant experience, preferred.
    • Experience writing grants for healthcare or education, preferred.
    • Excellent written communication skills with documented ability to write clear, structured, articulate and persuasive proposals.
    • Strong editing skills with attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of grant administration systems, processes and budgeting.
    • Demonstrated experience using databases.
    • Ability to accurately prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
    • Ability to perform successfully within time constraints and meet deadlines.
    • Capacity to work independently in a self-directed manner, as well as in close collaboration with others.

      • $50,000annuallyAdditional Compensation Opportunities:
