The SQF Practitioner is responsible for daily production as well as development, implementation, review, and maintenance of our SQF System & to ensure the current level of certification is maintained. Prepare for annual SQF recertification audits for Food Safety & Food Quality Modules. Facilitate annual review of SQF Manual and all supporting information including verification & validations of all work instructions. Maintain and assist in all updates to the current processes and work Instructions. Oversee the accuracy of the documents produced from the program. Perform all duties with a continuous improvement mindset. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBS degree in a Food Science is preferred with 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety or a related field. A mixture of education and experience equivalent to the above may substituteMust be capable of functioning independently with minimal supervision as well as perform and follow up with multiple projectsStrong working experience with GMP, FDA, GFSI and SQF standards for food safety and qualitySQF Practitioner certified or PCQI certified considered, or able to attend training and become certifiedFDA FSMA/HACCP certifiedProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsOTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to read and interpret documents including but not limited to: safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, order information, new formulation requests and procedural manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for day to day verification and validation to maintain SQF, HACCP, Preventive Controls and overall compliance with FSMA, regulatory and other certificationsLeads all SQF/Food Safety/HACCP meetingsResponsible for all internal and external auditsResponsible for all investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions and plans for improvementsOversees HACCP Program; verifies the critical control points and assists in the resolution of issues. participate in new equipment design to ensure compliance to standardDevelops and carries out studies/validations as needed by the siteUpdates internal plant policies such as SOP's and HACCP plans as neededCoordinates information for third party audits and maintains all Quality Manuals with procedures and policies and updates as needed to ensure that all information is correctResponsible for consistently maintaining safe quality food products by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirementsEnsuring visitors, contractors, tenants, and customers are documented on each visit to maintain good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense/food security and HACCP controlsResponsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.Ensuring all safety work practices are adhered toWorks with outside vendors as necessary as QA liaisonManage and maintain all daily SQF documents and paperworkPerform all daily pre-op sanitation monitoring tasks and ATP swab testing and documentationPerform/Verify equipment and temp calibrations and verificationsMaintain equipment maintenance schedule and work ordersReview and verify all CoAs on received ingredientsVerify the labeling/sell by date process of finished productsVerify correct ingredient lot numbers are on batch recordsManage production retained samplesMaintain product testing schedule to ensure that products are maintained to the highest quality standardExpand our supplier base for each ingredient to obtain more competitive positionsEnsure all ingredients have backup suppliers and streamline purchasing processesManage and improve inventory control processes in conjunction with OperationsObtain desired product certificationsProvide concise and effective feedback concerning issuesManage special projects or other duties as assignedSend production recap with metrics and observations to management as required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITIONBe able to lift 50 lbs.Must tolerate standing for long periods of time To be considered for this exciting opportunity send the following:• Subject line of: SQF CIF – YOUR NAME• Must include: Cover Letter, Resume and Salary Requirements
