Position Summary:  This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza.  Under the supervision of the Directory/Assistant Director the Radiology Registered Nurse serves as a resource and acts as a role model for staff to ensure comprehensive and safe patient care. The Radiology RN is responsible for the care of all patients receiving exams in the Radiology Department.  Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.  Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients.  When the need arises, will perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

 

  1. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse; BLS required through AHA or ARC.

 

  1. Education:  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 

 

  1. Experience:  Prefer one-year experience in ICU, telemetry or ER.

 

  1. Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.  Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.  Strong critical thinking skills

 

Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, the Radiologist and the Radiology Director Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
