As Payroll and Human Resources Specialist for Balfour Senior Living, you are responsible for processing payroll and performing general human resource duties with a positive, self-motivated and organized approach while interacting with others.  You will be responsible for administering, tracking and managing several important processes with the payroll and HR functions.

 About You:

 What you will do in this role: 

  • Responsible for the daily time and attendance system 
  • Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing 
  • Coordinate time and attendance and payroll processing through ADP Comprehensive Services/Payroll as needed 
  • Serve as an ongoing resource for general payroll and human resource needs 
  • Provide relevant reports as needed to department supervisors 
  • Provide overall support for payroll/HR related questions
  • Provide overall administrative support to the HR team 
  • Provide high level of discretion and professionalism while dealing with highly confidential information

You have: 

  • High school education
  • Minimum 2 years of related payroll and/or human resource experience
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and time and attendance systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written?communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate openly,?honestly and responsibly with others
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Customer service orientation with responsive nature and ability to multi-task and work both independently and in a team environment

You might also have:

  • Experience with ADP payroll and HRIS platforms 
  • Aptitude with technology and databases 


  • Ability to?sit/work at a computer for an extended period of time 
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed 
  • May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens 
  • Balfour is a pet-friendly community; you may be exposed to animal hair and dander 

Health & Wellness Protocols: Until further notice, interviews will take place virtually. Newly-hired associates will complete Balfour Senior Living's New Hire Orientation virtually, then receive important training about how to keep our residents, and themselves, as healthy as possible. This includes things like hand washing and social distancing. You will also follow wellness protocols developed under guidance of health agencies before entering any of our buildings. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises that COVID-19 can cause serious, life-threatening complications, and there is no way to know how COVID-19 will affect an individual. Further, an individual who becomes infected with COVID-19 could spread the virus to friends, family, co-workers, residents and others around them. Therefore, in a effort to protect our associates and our residents, all Balfour Senior Living employees are required to obtain a COVID-19 vaccination prior to commencement of employment with our organization. Qualified exemption requests may be submitted to the human resources department for consideration. We are also able to assist eligible candidates in locating a vaccination site.
