Nature of Work:
The Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery is
seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider for its CU Medicine
Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery practice at the Highlands
Ranch Specialty Care Center. As an active member of the head & neck
surgery team, the candidate will work closely with experienced head
& neck surgeons in both the outpatient and inpatient settings to
support a busy practice focusing on the management of complex head
and neck cancer patients. The qualified candidate will be appointed
to the rank of Instructor within the Department of Otolaryngology -
Head & Neck Surgery.

Examples of Work Performed
- The advanced practice provider will work under the supervision
of the faculty otolaryngologist to provide both inpatient and
- The advanced practice provider will be expected to support all
facets of the outpatient clinical service to include the following:
manage new and return patient visits, provide pre-operative and
post-operative education and care, and coordination of care with
providers within and outside the University setting. This will take
place in concert with RN and MA staff already in place.
- The candidate will be trained to perform office-based
procedures such as fiberoptic laryngoscopy, nasal endoscopy,
management of feeding tubes, management of tracheostomy tubes, and
office-based procedures such as simple biopsies.
- This role will provide support as surgical assistant in the
operating room with the faculty otolaryngologist.
- The advanced practice provider will be expected to support all
facets of the inpatient clinical service to include the following:
daily rounds, patient orders, inpatient progress notes, obtaining
consultations and coordinating inpatient care.
- The candidate will participate in the head & neck surgery call
rotation for the inpatient population.
- Provide administrative support and thorough follow-up to ensure
orderly, effective, and superior patient care. This may include the
development and implementation of educational materials or
protocols for staff and patients.
- Assist in the education of residents, nurses, and medical
assistants in the field of otolaryngology.
- The candidate will become proficient in the electronic medical
record (EMR) system used by the hospital.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary is $99,293-$119,828. This position is not
eligible for overtime compensation.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set
based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to,
internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range represents the University's good faith
and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at
