Job Description:

The position is located at the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) area of the Logistics Service within the RMR VAMC and supported catchment area. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure that supplies and material are distributed to all areas serviced by the Logistics Service. You may be required to operate a government vehicle as part of your duties. You must provide a copy of your unrestricted state issued driver's license with this package. [ "This position functions as a Supply Technician in the Total Supply Support Section (TSS) of the Materiel Management Section (MMS) of Acquisition & Materiel Management Service (A&MMS). Incumbent provides all needed non-pharmaceutical medical supplies to a variety of designated wards and clinic areas throughout the medical center. MAJOR DUTIES: Assigned to a team designated to support specific areas, and normally handles his/her work responsibilities independently, based on assignments within the team. General work responsibilities include: Electronic inventorying of all supply rooms daily, utilizing bar coding equipment and electronic inventorying of main stock areas as scheduled, utilizing bar coding equipment. Pulling necessary stock from main inventory areas for delivery to each supported clinical and non-clinical area Receiving supplies from the warehouse and delivering to and straightening supply closets; rotating stock, oldest to front and placing new items in back adhering to established labeling and stocking systems. Pulling and delivering emergency items to appropriate clinical/non-clinical area when paged by supported areas. Unpack/uncrate supplies from shipping cartons/boxes and properly store in main inventory areas. Provides general medical equipment support, e.g., filling out work orders for needed equipment repairs; storing clean and sterile equipment; properly issuing and documenting that issue by scanning the barcode or entering the information in the log book on the equipment cart. Communicating to Lead Supply Technician any concerns related to supplies, equipment or procedures, such as shortage of supplies/equipment, damaged items, incorrect quantities, incorrect location of supplies; incorrect supplies/equipment, etc. In all actions, following established procedures designed to ensure clean and safe storage and transportation of medical supplies and equipment Provides information as needed in response to general telephone inquiries and visitor referrals and assists Primary Managers in checking inventory for stock identified for recalled items and hazard alerts. Performs other TSS duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Various; Operations are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
