At Belk Model we provide unique services to unique clients who present a challenge for traditional programming options. We are offering comprehensive residential support, including morning and evening respite options, meaningful community connections, individualized employment at least at minimum wage, and intensive behavioral supports for the individuals we serve.

Belk Model has over 40 combined years of experience working with some of the most challenging clients in the state, and are driven to change the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Colorado by safely integrating them into their communities with the level of support unique to them.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide direct supervision of clients in completing their daily activities, including picking clients up from their homes and supervising them in the community for up to 7 hours in meaningful activities. Activities may include access to their local neighborhoods and communities, or supervising the client in an employment setting. Model appropriate behavior for clients and assisting with task completion as necessary Implement positive behavior supports and client-specific behavior plans as necessary Interact with individuals that may have the potential for aggressive and/or inappropriate behavior Aid in independent living training, including personal care, household services, communication skills, money management and personal finances, planning and decision making. Provide community access services that explore community services available to all people, natural supports available to the participant, and develop methods to access additional services/supports/activities needed by the participant. Complete appropriate documentation including daily notes, behavior tracking, and quarterly reviews Teach and model appropriate community behavior for clients and assisting in task completion as necessary Provide consistent and skilled intervention for behaviors and issues related to developmental disabilities, mental health and trauma histories Maintain positive rapport with clients, providers, employees, and team members Advocate for client needs and appropriate services to ensure the client has access to a high quality of life Effectively set boundaries with team members to promote positive decision making, judgment and discretion to best support the clients Maintain a positive attitude and calm demeanor during difficult situations, modeling effective crisis management and problem solving for others

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age Must carry 100,000/300,000 auto liability coverage on any vehicle used to transport the client Must have training and/or experience commensurate with the service or support being provided. Must have a clean driving record and criminal background. Must be willing to use personal vehicle for client transportation Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position, which may include but are not limited to physically intervening with clients that pose a safety threat to themselves or others utilizing SCM-approved techniques, working with unpredictable and aggressive clients and may be expected to be alone with them in the community or in their homes as well as maintaining calm and professionally intervening with clients during escalated/crisis moments

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

The following will be completed after date of hire/contract

First aid and CPR certification Safe Crisis Management Training and Trauma - Informed Care Medication administration certification training Agency and DDD-specific training regarding Policies and Procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 /hour with Quarterly Pay for Performance Bonuses available!

***Receive a bonus of $250 after completion of 3 months of employment!

***Receive a bonus of $250 after completion of 6 months of employment!

***Receive a bonus of $500 after completion of 1 year of employment!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
