The Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) Competitive Intelligence (CI) Analyst is accountable for performing primary/secondary research and cultivate human intelligence on RI&S markets and competitors and the development of customer and competitor analysis on strategic captures

Must synthesize information to develop comprehensive CI analysis that provides Campaign and Pursuit level recommendations, including but not limited to: development of CI Plans, customer & competitor assessments, support development of RI&S win strategies and competitive bid recommendations that increases the probability of winning new business. Must have the ability to add structure to ambiguous/complex problems and synthesize large amounts of competitive and customer data into clearly articulated strategic recommendations concerning RI&S captures across multiple technology domains and market areas. Will partner with RI&S Capture Managers (CM) and appropriate CMX functions (Proposal Excellence (PX), Competitive Advantage & Transformation (CA&T) and Price-to-Win (PTW)) to develop, support and execute plans for strategic captures

Requires a strong ability to apply creative initiative in CI analysis, tools, methodologies, and practices. Thorough understanding of the competitive landscape, manufacturing processes, and engineering is important in order to be able to recognize or effectively challenge the veracity of estimates from diverse functional contributors. A strong background in reading/writing/responding to RFIs and RFPs is essential. Position requires extensive experience in supporting PTW, CI, and Strategy for diverse product portfolios

As the CI Analyst you will interact with Business Development Executives, Product Line Directors, and CMs. You will be performing CI assessments on opportunities ranging from $25M to over $1B. Person will ensure the broader utility and application of CI on future captures with similar customer, competitor, or technology by appropriately indexing all relevant information. The CI Analyst must have strong leadership skills, the ability to manage diverse cross functional teams, and the ability to cultivate, develop, and institute best practices across the enterprise

Responsibilities

* Cultivate, develop, and institute best CI practices across the enterprise
* Independently source, analyze, and synthesize data and intelligence into actionable information
* Ensure the broader utility and application of CI on RI&S strategic initiatives and future captures
* Develop and maintain CI databases, processes, and tools by appropriately cataloging customer, competitor, technology, and pricing information
* Define and implement leading edge CI practices within RI&S, including advanced analytics techniques
* Partner with CMs to develop to develop integrated CI Plan as part of the Capture Process and independent CI assessments for RI&S Pursuits
* Partner with CA&T Team to support Black Hat engagements for CI research. Additionally, support Black Hat, Competitive Assessment and Win Strategy workshops as active participant and Subject Matter Expert in RI&S technology domains and provide insight into customer care-about's and competitors' differentiators
* Gain concurrence with capture team while maintaining independence
* Support the PTW team to employ a variety of PTW methodologies to assist PTW Analysts with development of estimates of competitor offerings and varying technical approaches using cost and statistical modeling tools to effectively capture key information
* Utilize CI to support development of bid strategy recommendations
* Establish an experience based track record of competitor bid behavior to enable adequate evaluation of competitor bid approaches on major pursuits
* Brief key stakeholders and Senior Leadership on CI strategy recommendations
* Leverages & maintains extensive internal and external network to identify new competitive intelligence
* Conduct peer reviews to explain work and gain feedback from other analysts and, conversely, to provide feedback to other analysts likewise presenting their work for review
* Collect and analyze post-submittal intelligence to determine the accuracy of analysis, provide updates to improve the accuracy therein, and archive the methodology for other new business pursuits reuse
* Continuously improve business acumen through classes, independent research, color team reviews, and symposiums
* Support post-award Win-Loss assessments

Required:

* BA/BS with 10+ years prior work experience in business development/front end of the business related roles
* 8+ years of experience in US Defense Industry, preferably in the Space domain; 1+ years of Competitive Intelligence experience
* Strong familiarity with RTX's major competitors along with demonstrated competitive wins, and with associated competitor/industry knowledge
* Develops and articulates win strategy, risk mitigation, and competitive landscape with executive leadership and provides sound recommendations for capture teams
* Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills that mobilize teams to work well together and persevere in a demanding and stressful environment
* Strong presentation skills and executive influencing
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Ability to comfortably lead consultative sessions and out-briefs with senior leadership
* Strong knowledge of acquisition process for US DOD, Foreign Military Sale, and Direct Commercial Sale proposals
* Able to work collaboratively across organizations to resolve problems and achieve results under extreme time pressures and in very visible and impactful circumstances
* Must be well organized and able to multi-task
* Must be willing to travel
* BA/BS in Engineering, Science, Mathematics
* TS/SCI

Desired:

* A proven track record of leading Competitive Intelligence efforts for captures larger than $100M
* Strong knowledge of the Raytheon proposal processes and procedures
* RI&S CM Certification - minimum Routine Level 1
* Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or MBA
