Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer/ Principal Systems Engineer based out of Aurora, CO.
Description
The ideal candidate must have the ability to understand, define, and develop ground system specifications, interfaces, scheduling or processing platform design, all in a Agile DevSecOps environment.
Candidates shall utilize sound engineering practices to develop, implement, and maintain end-to-end satellite ground systems. They shall also perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Within an Agile Scrum team, performs the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.
He or she may be part of a team to develop automated tests to ensure compliance to requirements baseline. In addition, responsibilities may include coordinating and conducting system engineering activities (e.g. SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, etc.) and other ground segment support activities.

    Qualifications:
    
    This requisition may be filled at either a Engineer Systems/ Principal Engineer Systems.
    Basic Qualifications:
    • For a Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM degree with 2 + systems engineering experience; 0 years with a Master's; or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
    • For a Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM degree with 5 + years of experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD; or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
    • Systems Engineering skills, including requirements definition/allocation, interface definition, verification & validation, and life-cycle management.
    • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or higher (required to start) Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience with Agile software development.
      • Experience with Ground Systems (space or satellite knowledge highly preferred)
      • Familiarity with Agile Scrum practices and traditional waterfall projects
      • Experience using software version control such as Git (GitLab or BitBucket)
      • Experience using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket
      • Familiarity with Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
      • Certifications as a Certified AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), i.e. CSA-A or CSA-P, or equivalent
      • Experience using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
      • Familiarity with geospatial data, geospatial processing, and/or remote sensing Salary range for a Engineer Systems: $77,952-$116,928
        Salary range Principal Engineer Systems: $96,600-$144,900
