OVERVIEW
The Change Enablement and Communications Lead (CEC Lead) works closely with the Digital Program Office and multiple "Critical Few" Leads; as well as Functional Leads and Mine, Process, Data and Infrastructure experts including contractor/ consultant and implementation partners across all sites, regions and corporate geographies to deliver organizational change management and communications enabling successful project(s).

The Change Enablement and Communications lead has accountability for the success of organizational change management efforts across "Critical Few" projects and within the Digital Program Office. This lead is part of a project team and works alongside the project managers, and other team members on the development, management, and execution of change management plans. The CEC Lead advises Project leads on approaches to change and navigating complex situations (including those which present themselves in a global organizations) and drives the approach to deliverable development, based on experience and thought leadership. This lead is also responsible for the building of effective local engagement and sustainability of the overall change management effort. The CEC Lead is responsible for aligning stakeholders through change networks, managing the impact of change, and mitigating risk to the organization arising from the change.

The Change Enablement Lead is also responsible for the design, development, and delivery of communications as part of the overall change management efforts on a project. The lead may advise the Project lead and PM on the best messaging, methods, media, and frequency that make up communications, and develops and implements plans to distribute communications to build awareness and knowledge about the change.

The CEC Lead also teams with the regional project leads and project managers, regional and functional communications and change management managers, and functional leads in region and global to ensure inclusive and localized planning and support. The CEC lead also works closely with the Instructional Design role.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Partner with Project Managers across the Digital Program office
  • Develop Detailed stakeholder engagement maps
  • Establish key OCM metrics to measure success
  • Work with regional leads and key stakeholders to identify change management target roles and plan, validate, and manage
  • Assess needs for communications and change management. Provide detailed draft materials and approach to the project team(s)
  • Develop detailed stakeholder engagement maps, integrate regional and site level stakeholders, manage, maintain and update as needed
  • Develop, manage, and update communication plans for the project/program, include localized requirements and elements, plan for localization as needed
  • Develop, manage, and update communication plans for the project/program
  • Leverage standard change management tools and templates as identified and aligned to the project
  • Deliver all change management and communications materials as outline in plans
  • Work with peers, key partners, and constituents for input, feedback, and localization
  • Plan translation needsTASK SUMMARY
    Assigned Critical Few Program
    • Schedule - Develop and maintain detailed change and communications plans to support the assigned initiative(s)/timeline(s), track day-to-day progress, and proactively escalate risks to schedule delivery. Align schedule with program's delivery schedule
    • Risk - Actively collaborate to identify risk and develop risk management plans with leads, delivery team and other stakeholders; provide details to program lead for tracking
    • Communications - Support project governance, identify updates necessary to Critical Few leads, stakeholder lists, roles and responsibilities, schedule meetings, and prepare content
    • Change Management - Collaborate with Change Management DPO leads and project resources to develop appropriate plans, integrate the Change Management schedule into the detailed project schedule and track activities to minimize impact to critical path
    • Lessons Learned - Review and apply lessons learned from other critical few programs as well as DPO Change/Communications standards

      • B.S. or B.A. degree
      • Expert knowledge in the application and delivery of organizational change management approaches.
      • Expert interpersonal skills, including written, presentation, and oral communication.
      • Understanding of, and training and / or associated experience in change management model(s) ie: PROSCI/ADKAR, Kotter, Lewin, etc.
      • The Change Enablement and Communications Lead will have a successful history in building comprehensive change management and communication plans across complex programs across multiple geographic regions, preferably in the mining/metals/oil & gas or similar industries.
      • Expert knowledge in the development of strategic and tactical communications in support of assigned initiative(s). Large-scale (global) initiative experience will be considered a significant plus.
      • Successful experience in complex multi-vendor projects effectively managing medium to large, globally dispersed project teams.
      • Experience working with / influencing senior level stakeholders, demonstrated ability to lead across functional teams across geographies and functional business units
      • Experience working directly with mining or industrial operations on solution deployment.
      • Extensive experience with technology vendor management and managing a multi-vendor programSKILLS AND ABILITIES
        • Technical fluency with a strong understanding of business goals in the context of operations/cyber security; confident in understanding, discussing and explaining technology concepts and experience understanding technical impacts on scope
        • Ability to facilitate working sessions with teams to obtain agreement on complex problems/solutions
        • Demonstrated commitment to delivery of quality results on time and on budget coupled with the ability to identify and track dependencies across multiple work streams, milestones, and deliverables
        • Strong relationship and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to create and manage change management activities/communications
        • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement and assertiveness, effective time management, initiative and self-motivation
        • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills as well as sufficient poise to successfully interact with all levels of an organization, cross-functional partners, and customers
        • Good negotiation skills coupled with the ability to resolve conflict situations (both internal & external)
        • Ability to create impactful content highlighting key messages and associated actions
        • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
        • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels of the organization / project
        • Desire to enhance knowledge and skills of self and others
