If a position is listed with both office locations and virtual offerings, Comcast may be willing to consider candidates who live greater than 100 miles from the office for the remote option.)Job SummaryJob DescriptionDUTIES: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Design and develop new software for data platforms; administer big data platforms using Hadoop, Hadoop File System, and Hive; support applications under development and customize current applications using tools and technologies including Spark and Kafka; architect and process data sets using MapReduce; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; and work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.REQUIREMENTS: - - - - - - - - - - - - Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and two (2) years of experience developing software for data platforms; administering big data platforms using Hadoop, Hadoop File System (HDFS), and Hive; of which one (1) year of experience includes using Spark, Kafka, and MapReduce.SALARY: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - $87,443 to $125,000 per yearBENEFITS: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CONTACT: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Apply to job_candidates@comcast.com.
