Job Description:
Scrum Master Aurora, CO (remote) 1+ Year Contract Overview: we
are looking for a contract SM position for our BOSS project. Remote
possible, 1-year with additional 1 or 2 years after that. The
Senior Scrum Master ensures the success of business outcomes and
priorities. Supports multiple scrum teams and acts as a buffer
between the scrum teams and their product owner to ensure the goals
of the sprint are effectively executed and accomplished. Champions
the value that their scrum teams add to the business and advocates
for processes that encourages cross functional collaboration. In
addition, will act as the agile coach for the program, to ensure
industry best practices are enforced and maintained. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with Agile process questions, clearing blockers,
reinforcing transparency, and encouraging self-organization
- Facilitate the identification of relevant metrics and define
the measurement system
- Cultivates an Agile mindset in problem solving and applying
system thinking to uncover bottlenecks
- Encourages engagement between teams and stakeholders
- Ensures that the project risks and blockers are escalated and
highlighted appropriately
- Empowers managers to partner with business stakeholders and
make more strategic decisions
- Ensures the team understands agile methodology values,
principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver
solutions.
- Scheduling and facilitating scrum ceremonies, meetings, and
decision-making processes.
- Monitors scrum team progress and performance to encourage team
improvements.
- Assisting the Program Manager with preparing and presenting
status reports to stakeholders
- Maintains Platform-wide awareness and focus to assist with
resource allocation and ensuring collaboration
- Contributing to and where required Leading Scrum of Scrums in
addition to facilitating their own individual scrum teams
- Able to write effective user stories on behalf of the team and
the Product Owner/Manager
- Where necessary can act as a delegate to the product owner to
accept user stories
- Ensures the team is maintaining a regular burndown of stories
acceptance during the sprints
- Has an extremely solid understanding of the tool JIRA for
tracking and reporting and is able to build and distribute
dashboards and reports from within the toolBasic Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience with significant experience
using agile principles.
- CSM, CPO, and/or PMP (or related) qualifications not required
but are an added bonus.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coaching teams in agile principles and practices at
scale
- Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
skills
- Facilitation skills, including ability to facilitate
decision-making and broker agreements amongst diverse, differing,
and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal
supervision in an ever-changing environment
- Experience partnering with business executives and senior
leaders
- Experience effectively leading through influence in a matrixed
environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including those related to
conflict resolution
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical
audience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams,
Word and Excel), and applicable business software
applications.
- Knowledge of the Atlassian suite
- Work is expected to be remote for the course of this engagement
with occasional requests for in-office and in-person meetings
(likely once a month or less)
