Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineer/ Principal Software Engineer based out of Aurora, CO.

What We Need and What You'll Get to Do:
We are in need of an experienced engineer who have a strong software development with an integration background for the purposes integrating systems of code to work together. Candidate will be required to:

  • Write scripts (bash) to move data between components and will often have to debug a disconnected system (data cannot be moved off).
  • Write parsers to translate binary data into standard formats.
  • Develop code and logic to send/receive JMS messages to start/stop processors execution.
  • Debug and troubleshoot at a system level.
  • Perform analysis on systems to determine bottlenecks and latency issues.
  • Quickly prototype potential solutions by coding logic in: script, Java, Python and/or C/C++).
  • Study and understand existing legacy baselines and participate in engineering analysis and modernization efforts.Our small agile team is highly energized and has a significant software effort on a growing program with a large program impact.     This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below. This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer/ Principal Software Engineer.

    Basic Qualifications:
    • For an Engineer Software: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 2 years of software development experience or 0 years with a Master.
    • For a Principal Engineer Software: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 5 + years of software development experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD.
    • Strong Unix and scripting skills.
    • Coding experience in Java, Python or C++/C in a Linux development environment.
    • Ability to work at a system level and be able to locate and fill in missing pieces/gaps between components/capabilities.
    • Strong troubleshooting skillset and capable of debugging complex systems and problems.
    • Able to quickly create prototype a solution in support of immediate needs before a formal capability can be developed.
    • Active Top Secret clearance or higher (will put in for a SCI clearance and it will be required to start). Preferred Qualifications:
      • Familiarization with industry standard analysis tools (STE, X-Midas, etc.) and common data formats (raw I/Q, Midas blue or Platinum, cdifs etc.).
      • Working knowledge of modern radar principles and radar systems.
      • Knowledge of object oriented design, software lifecycles and modern day software development practices. Capable of maintaining the stability of large code bases and modernizing legacy systems.
      • Exposure to Agile practices.
      • Direct experience working in a large program in an integration or SW development role.
      • Knowledge and experience working with containers (Dockers) and Kubernetes.
      • Active TS/SCI /w Poly security clearance. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.         Salary Range: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD
        Salary Range 2: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD

        Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
