position is categorized as a full-time year-round, hourly,
non-exempt position. The workload for this position is varied based
on the time of the year. Scheduled days within the department vary
based on department needs. Flexibility on weekends is required. HR
Specialists report to the General Manager, then to others on
Management team. This is not an all-inclusive list, and other tasks
assigned may include those related to assisting other HR Staff as
needed and/or in their absence. As with any position, tasks may
also be assigned in other departments. Essential Functions/Duties:
- Daily communication and meetings with other HR staff for
continuity and awareness of ongoing HR issues. - Because of this
awareness, in the absence of other HR staff, can assist staff and
management as needed with most HR topics and relay information when
other HR staff return to office. - Various HR duties related to
Employee Relations, Documentation, Payroll, Benefits, Safety,
Training and Travel, including but not limited to: speaking to
employees and prospective candidates, relaying information and
policies about the workplace to staff, assisting with staff and
guest injuries & reports, passing along other HR feedback to HR
staff or supervisors in a positive and respectful manner, as well
as ensuring completion of necessary HR documentation including but
not limited to: phone screening, green info sheets, payroll status
form updates, evaluation forms, seasonal releases, year-end filing
and other HR forms, and assisting staff with Paylocity. Tasks
assigned but not limited to: Recruiting, Training, Safety, Travel
Assigned Tasks (not inclusive of all tasks that may be assigned,
subject to change) Recruiting - Create and maintain job
descriptions, with assistance from other HR staff and final
approval by management. - Communicate with departments regarding
staffing needs and work with other HR staff to conduct recruitment
planning meetings. - Create internal and external job postings
using appropriate language, complying with current department of
labor requirements, with final approval by management. - Use
different recruiting techniques to source for qualified candidates
to effectively fill open positions. - Build professional
relationships and networks with external staffing sources to
develop a qualified candidate pool preemptively of company needs.
Maintain regular contact with possible future candidates. - Plan
and execute hiring events both in-house and offsite to attract and
hire candidates. - Review applicant documents to evaluate if they
meet the position requirements. - Communicate with all applicants
for all positions, contacting via phone or email to confirm receipt
of application and any additional information needed. (Includes
phone/electronic screening; interviewing, tracking, and
documentation of all applications, internal forms, and interview
data in Paylocity, as per our current protocols). - Assist in
performing reference checks for potential employees, preparing
background checks for TGE - Contact each applicant via phone or
email, confirming receipt of application and any additional
information necessary, i.e., screening for position(s), scheduling
Face to Face interview as needed. - Create and coordinate
Onboarding, Orientation and Orientation packets as per our
protocols. Coordinate with other HR Specialist on updating these
processes in Paylocity. - Communicate with qualified applicant and
coordinate with supervisor and candidates to schedule an employee's
first day of work. Help new staff with Paylocity as needed. -
Conduct New Hire & Rehire Onboarding. Communicate policies and
procedures to new and rehired staff members. Show required video
trainings to new (and other staff yearly). Pesticide applicator's
license required. - Coordinate with staff and supervisors for those
staff with a required leave of absence (as per job description). -
Purchase staff uniforms and other related items as approved by
management. Documentation/Record Keeping - Distribute end of season
or other release paperwork to supervisors, collecting and filing as
per our protocols. - Maintain applicant tracking, and with other HR
staff, maintain staff start and release dates, rewards, increments,
and promotions. - Maintain Archive records and follow retention
standards for employment records, with assistance from other HR
staff. - Handle employee absences, injuries, COVID cases, etc.,
working together as needed to complete all documentation and
communication, in collaboration with other HR staff. - Assist
Supervisors or other staff with paperwork needed in the absence of
other HR staff. - Assist with Supervisor meetings, taking notes and
with notes from other Specialist, completing minutes from meetings
to distribute to Supervisors. - Assist staff as needed with
Paylocity, HR forms or other paperwork. - Stay up to date and
comply with labor law changes and updates. Communication/Employee
Relations/Training - Monitor employee morale and concerns, discuss
with other HR Staff, consult with management and TGE HR Manager on
major concerns. Pass along feedback to supervisors in a positive
and respectful manner. Awareness of legal aspects and feedback to
management. - Communicate with managers and employees regularly to
establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads. -
Along with other HR staff, keep in touch with staff members out of
office for various reasons. - Process staff inquiries and respond
in a timely manner. - Implement training in relation to first day
and ongoing training of new staff, and current staff for off-site
and industry opportunities. Registration for classes and tradeshows
as needed. With other HR staff, develop training for current staff
including seminars and videos. Travel - Coordinate and secure
travel plans and tradeshow registrations after approved by
management. Includes discussions with and distribution of any
registration packets to those attending classes/events. Safety -
Coordinate and submit Designated Driver information as needed
throughout the year and yearly updates/collection of information as
directed by TGE HR and our current protocols. - With other HR
staff, meet and follow up with all insurance, Fire Department,
Department of Agriculture, and other groups for annual or other
safety inspections. - With other HR staff, sits on the Safety
committee. - Conduct monthly safety checks and restock safety
supplies. - Coordinate the update and upkeep of SDS sheets. -
Coordinate with other HR staff and schedule safety-related training
for staff. - Show required pesticide safety videos and other safety
info to new hires during onboarding. In addition to the duties &
responsibilities identified, there are two major components of

Minimum Skill Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an

least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States. -
High School graduate, GED, or equivalent education is required. A
bachelor's degree or HR Certification is preferred, but not
required. - One to two years of experience in human resources or
recruiting is preferred. - Experience hiring at minimum 5-10
employees per week preferred. - Colorado pesticide applicator
license required - As of June 2018, all candidates hired, rehired,
or promoted into administration or supervisory roles must
satisfactorily complete a background check to be eligible for this
