Job Description:
Intermountain Healthcare seeks a dedicated and skilled Medical
Lab Scientist to join our innovative healthcare team. This pivotal
role involves conducting complex biochemical, microscopic, and
bacteriological tests to provide data for use in treatment and
diagnosis of disease. Working closely in a dynamic hospital
environment, our Medical Lab Scientists play a crucial role in our
mission to provide high-quality healthcare. As a steward of health,
you will work within state-of-the-art lab facilities, contribute to
our research-driven care protocols, and help maintain our standards
of excellence in patient outcomes. Conduct and analyze chemical,
bacteriological, and microscopic tests. Prepare specimens and
manage lab equipment with precision and care. Record findings and
process laboratory tests to ensure timely results. Collaborate with
healthcare professionals to discuss testing results and treatment
plans. Stay current with technological advances in the field and
adopt best lab practices. Ensure compliance with healthcare
regulations and safety standards for laboratory operations.
Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) Proficient in
clinical microscopy Advanced understanding of chemical and
biological processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain detailed reports and records of lab work
Excellent communication skills for discussing lab results Medical

Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical
Technologist (MT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology
(ASCP) or equivalent.
