services on campus, referral for community specialty care, and
comprehensive health education and prevention services programming.

University, see . Medical Clinic The Medical Clinic at the CSU
Health Network provides acute and chronic care to CSU students by
appointments and on a walk-in basis for urgent concerns. Primary
care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners care
for students, with emphasis on preventive care, education, and
continuity. The medical staff are supported by a full range of
laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, physical therapy, psychiatry,
optometry, and nutrition services on site, and integrated care with
counseling staff enhances the treatment of students with behavioral
health concerns. Minor procedures are performed in the clinic. The
Medical Clinic provides services between the hours of 8:00 am 5:00
pm Monday-Friday, providing attractive work schedules for staff.
The Staff Psychiatrist works as a provider of psychiatric care and
reports directly to the Director of Psychiatry Services. The main
function of the position is to care for patients with acute and
chronic psychiatric conditions, including substance use problems.
This position provides psychiatric assessments and management,
ordering and interpreting tests and documenting care in the
electronic medical records; assesses patients progress and modifies
treatment plans accordingly; institutes emergency hospitalizations
for patients in crisis for their safety and stabilization when
needed; refers patients to the community providers when needed;
provides telepsychiatry services through the phone/video
conferencing if needed; and collaborates with others within and
outside of the CSU Health Network to ensure that patients receive
the optimal care. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The
salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and
applicable board-certified psychiatry subspecialties. There is
opportunity for additional salary if you have completed fellowships
and are board certified in applicable psychiatry subspecialties,
for example, Addiction Psychiatry. This position may supervise
psychiatric physician assistants; students from Psychiatric Nurse
Practitioner graduate school; or may serve as a proctor for medical
students. Makes independent decisions at the highest-level
regarding patient care, including an initial assessment and
diagnostic impression, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing
and monitoring medications, monitoring side effects and determining
patient care plans. May be involved in health care policy decisions
and serve as a consultant/liaison for other providers.
