Provide specialized nursing care in a dynamic Progressive Care Unit (PCU) focused on cardiac patients, located on the 10th floor of a reputable hospital in Englewood, CO. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, equipped with advanced cardiac monitoring technology and staffed by experienced professionals dedicated to excellence in patient care. Key Responsibilities: Administer comprehensive nursing care to PCU patients with a focus on cardiac conditions Monitor and manage drips including heparin, tikosin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, and ketamine Operate telemetry, transport monitors, suction devices, feeding pumps, and manage trachs, bipap/cpap, heated high flow systems, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, and sequential compression devices (SCD pumps) Perform procedures such as chest tube placement/removal, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and charge RNs to maintain optimal patient-to-staff ratios (1:4) Document all patient care activities proficiently using Meditech EMR system Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN licensure with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and cardiac nursing experience required ACLS certification mandatory Skilled in managing complex drips and advanced cardiac care procedures Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with strong teamwork skills Location Insight:Englewood, CO, offers a vibrant community with beautiful mountain views and ample outdoor recreational opportunities.
