Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position
requiring a CO or compact RN license and specialized critical care
skills. Responsibilities - Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive
Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting - Provides care to
critically ill adult patients requiring advanced cardiac and
respiratory support - Patient cases include open-heart surgeries,
ventricular assist devices, heart and lung transplants, ECMO,
aortic aneurysm repair, vascular and thoracic surgeries - Uses Epic
for charting - Nurse-to-patient ratios vary based on acuity and may
range from 1:2, 1:1 to 2:1 - Shift schedule consists of 3x12 hour
rotating shifts, covering both days and nights - Required to work
six weekend shifts per six-week period - Floating to like units as
needed - Work as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on
holistic patient care and improved clinical outcomes - Utilize a
broad range of critical care modalities and technologies, including
vasoactive medications and complete cardiopulmonary support - Navy
scrubs are required - Pre-employment modules must be completed
prior to start and during initial orientation - No on-call
responsibilities - No blocked scheduling requests are permitted - A
maximum of 10 days of requested time off is allowed per contract,
with blackout dates when RTO cannot be approved - Local candidates
within 75 miles are subject to a different pay rate Requirements -
Active CO or compact RN license required - Current AHA BLS and ACLS
certifications required - Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or
relevant critical care experience required - First-time travelers
are accepted - Previous employees of the health system in any
capacity within the past two years are not eligible for
