Job Summary:
The Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo (CMHHIP) is a 516-bed
acute care psychiatric hospital that provides inpatient behavioral
health services for adults, adolescents and geriatric patients.
CMHHIP is a forensic hospital that serves individuals with pending
criminal charges who require evaluations of competency, individuals
who have been found to be incompetent to proceed (restoration
treatment) and individuals found to be not guilty by reason of
insanity by Colorado's criminal courts.
CMHHIP is located in southern Colorado on a 300-acre campus. This
position will be required to be in person in Pueblo, CO and is not
located on Anschutz Medical Campus.
Staff Physicians are responsible for providing medical care to
hospital patients and supporting programs in the Medical Services
and Medical Staff work units.
This position is considered full-time (1.0 FTE).
Key Responsibilities:

Performs preadmission screening of patients being referred by
outside agencies; admission health assessments and writes admission
orders.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of
hire.
Minimum Qualifications: MD/DO, CO Physician License or eligible for
a CO Physician License
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years post-training direct care experience as a physician in a
relevant medical field
Experience providing medical care to psychiatric inpatients.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has
been established as HIRING RANGE:
$312,028 (per 1.0 FTE).
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the
University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of
possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not
eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
