Posted on: March 18, 2023
Job Description:
509 N Sable Blvd, Aurora, Colorado, 80011, United States of
AmericaIf you feel your calling has always been to be both a nurse
and educator, then you will love your work as a peritoneal dialysis
nurse. As a Peritoneal Dialysis Registered Nurse (PD RN), you will
educate your patients in a clinic setting (not the patients'
homes), empowering them to perform their own dialysis at home. You
take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient
to ensure their treatment stays on track. Your hours are typically
a Monday to Friday schedule-yet your impact on the lives of our
patients will be felt every day. Dialysis Experience is NOT
required.What you can expect:
- Core Nursing - You apply your "core" nursing skills to assess,
diagnose and implement complete care plans to take care of the
whole patient. It's challenging, fun and keeps your day fresh.
- Educator - In addition to training patients to perform their
own treatments and giving them the confidence to address
complications, PD nurses also educate prospective patients on the
potential benefits of peritoneal dialysis and engage physicians and
in-center nurses to ensure patients are making an active choice in
their dialysis treatment.
- Autonomy - You provide comprehensive patient care in an
independent setting and will be responsible for customizing care
for each patient to help them stay healthy and successful doing
their therapy at home. You multitask in myriad ways between
educating existing and prospective patients, seeing them in the
clinic, and collaborating with physician partners. PD patients and
physicians rely on you to guide their therapy, and the joy comes in
witnessing how your care impacts patients' lives.Full vaccination
against COVID-19 or a medical/religious exemption is required.
