  • Dedicated topatient safety and the Joint Commission's "Speak Up" initiative Position Summary: Thisposition supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Lukes Medical Center ofoptimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond thetraditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Within scope, the BMT Outpatient Clinic RN:
    • Overseesand directs the care of the BMT or Hematology-Oncology patient
    • Is responsiblefor collaboration with all disciplines to provide well-coordinated patientcare
    • Demonstrates high-level knowledge and competencewith respect to hematologic malignancies and administration of chemotherapy andbiotherapy agents
    • Appropriately manages side effects of treatment and engages thephysician as appropriate
    • Provides patient and family education relative to thepatients diagnosis and treatment process
    • Demonstrates collaboration,professionalism, and effective communication in all interactions withphysicians, the administrative team, PSLMC employees, patients, caregivers andreferral sources

        • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license
        • BLS Healthcare provider
        • ACLS required within 9 months
        • ONS Chemotherapy Provider card with 9 months of hire
        • PRN employees will not be required to have ONS Chemotherapy Provider card because they will not have enough exposure to chemotherapy/biotherapy to maintain competency in this area
