Progressive Care Nurse for our facility to ensure that we continue
to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. We are

Nurse on the progressive care unit, you will be joining a team of
professionals who are dedicated to deliver excellent care to our
patients. You will enable patients to reach their goals through
care specifically designed to cater to individual patient needs,
and also administered by some of the most highly skilled and
trained providers in the Rocky Mountain region. What you will do in
this role:
- You will provide age appropriate excellent care to your
patients based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and
learning needs of the patient.
- You will be performing duties within the scope of your practice
and function within the philosophy and overall plan of care
delivery at our hospitals.
- You will work in inpatient acute setting.Check out a video of
what you can expect on the PCU!Here is what we do on PCU and what
certifications the nurses can get:
- Get TAVR certified and care for post TAVR patients
- TMCA was the second hospital in the U.S. to obtain TAVR
certification with the Transcatheter Valve Certification from the
American College
- You want CVOR? How about post MVR, mitral clips, AVR, and post
CABG patients?
- Chest tube removal competency is required for this patient
populations
- We are working on a pacer wire removal competency for
nursing.
- Our CVOR surgeons Dr. Pak and Dr. Abelson value nurse autonomy
and want to continue supporting our nurses in gaining new skills
for the surgical cardiac PCU.
- Rolling GE monitors for in room bedside monitoring.
- Do candidates want to LEARN EVEN MORE about the heart and
atrial fibrillation? At TMCA we do WATCHMAN procedures to prevent
our patients from having a stroke!
- We also take insulin gtts for DKA patients meeting PCU
criteria
- TMCA PCU nurses have an expanded skill set for Neuro:
- Post tPA patients requiring low intensity monitoring
- Coming this summer are post thrombectomy stroke patients so
that is new education in the works that anyone hired now will get
education for.
- Vasoactive drugs such as milrinone and dobutamine because we
are SO GOOD at keeping our patients alive!
- Nurses that meet the required working hours will eventually
qualify to become PCCN certified with the American Association of
Critical Care Nurses or obtain their CV-RN board certification
through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Requirements:
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered
Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license
- BSN preferred
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart
Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
or American Red Cross
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- One year experience in acute care The Medical Center of Aurora,
