Job Description:
Per Diem, Various hours and shifts a week.Pay Range is between
$22.45 $33.67/hr, depending on years of relevant and like
experience. **Range includes per diem differential. +$2.50/hr for
evening and weekend shifts.Boulder Community Health is a Certified

paramedic assists practitioners in the daily functions in the
Urgent Care Departments. The paramedic practices under the
supervision, guidance, and instruction of an advanced nurse
practitioner who is immediately available and physically present.
They perform tasks and procedures within the scope of practice
outlined in this job description and in line with Colorado Revised
Statute 25-35-103. Additionally, this position administers certain
classes of emergency medications in accordance with the Rules and
Regulations in the same statute. The paramedic may only provide
functions identified in this job description. Medical direction is
provided by the Nurse Practitioner Liaison and Urgent Care Medical
Director.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation or Formal TrainingHigh School
graduate or equivalent; higher degree or diploma preferredSpecial
Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)Current certification
in the State of Colorado as a Paramedic NREMT BLS ACLS
ProviderKnowledge, Skill and AbilityAbility to effectively
communicate to patients, family, and co-workers Basic knowledge of
frequently used medical terminologies Knowledge of policies and
procedures related to Urgent CareExperienceOne year of experience
as an EMT-P preferredESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESContribute to Urgent Care Department operations and
efficiencyAssist NP in utilizing department flow and patient
placement throughout Urgent Care DepartmentMaintain competence in
documentation and care of patientsUtilize SBAR (Situation,
Background, Assessment, and Recommendation) for communicationAble
to cover desk coordination and function tasks for communication,
notifications, order entry supportAttend meetings and in-services
as required by departmental policyPerform the following technical
skills:Vital SignsOxygen Administration, BLS airway adjunctsAssist
in airway managementCPRIV initiation and removal on all
agesInitiation of crystalloid fluid via IV, medication drip, and
electrolyte infusions as specifically authorized in this Job
DescriptionSplinting and wound care including application of
topical anesthetic, wound irrigation, preparation of dressings and
steri-stripsPatient specimen collections (nasal swabs, throat
swabs, point of care monitoring, etc.)Suture/staple
removalMedication Paramedic may administer. Medications listed may
be given any route ordered and appropriate, unless specifically
limited in this job description. If the medic is not permitted by
this job description to administer a specific medication, or a
specific route, the medic cannot follow the order and the order
must be carried out by staff authorized to perform the
service.WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESPhysical working
environment may include, but not be limited to, any of the
following hazards: chemical, electronic, mechanical, biowaste,
explosive, radiation, etc.Environmental conditions may include, but
not be limited to, variations in temperature, noise, odors,
etc.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is
required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally
required to kneel, squat and sit.The employee must be able to
consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds,
frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and
occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds
(for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a
bed.)Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine
motor skills and reaching. The following senses will be needed for
essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell and
