- Responsible for the clinical evaluation and tracking of trauma
- Directs ongoing patient tracking, abstracting and data entry of
trauma service patients into the trauma registry data bank.
- Responsible for quality assessment of patient care to include
assisting with design and development of QA indicators and active
participation in outcome review and informed peer review utilizing
guidelines set forth by American College of Surgeons- Committee on
Trauma, Colorado State trauma rules and JCAHO.
- Responsible for trauma Peer Review documentation and loop
- Responsible for trauma related education coordination and
- Responsible for weekly data validation and reports results to
the team including the Director Trauma Services.
- Develops and participates in public education and employee
education for ED, ICU, OR/PACU, and Neuro/Trauma Unit staff.
What qualifications you will need:
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the
State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active
multistate Registered Nurse license. Current BLS certification
through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and
TNCC certification required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN
- Experience: Three years Emergency Department or Critical Care
nursing. Experience must be recent, within the last 4 years.
Experience in quality assurance desired. Prior experience on a
Trauma Service desired.
- Special Qualifications: Computer skills to include data entry
and reporting. Word processing skills desirable. Knowledge and
experience with ICD-9, AIS, and RTS scoring, ACLS provider status
desired. Assumes fiscal responsibility by demonstrating
accountability for actions, productivity and other aspects of
department programs. TNCC instructor preferred.
- Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and
direction by the Patient Care Director and Nurse Manager. Employee
will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in
accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and
procedures. This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for
COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations
(unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).The Medical
Center of Aurora is a 346 plus bed acute care hospital located in
Aurora, Colorado. The Medical Center of Aurora is comprised of six
medical campuses in Aurora and Centennial, Colorado, including the
Main Campus, the North Campus Behavioral Health and Wellness
Center, Centennial Medical Plaza, Saddle Rock ER, Spalding
Rehabilitation Hospital, Spalding Rehabilitation at P/SL, and
medical office building at Green Valley Ranch. The Main Campus
facility is a Level II Trauma Center with Primary Stroke
