at various California VA Health Care System facilities (San
Francisco, Fresno, Mather, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Long Beach, San

Active, unrestricted license to practice as an RN in the
appropriate state of license. CNOR preferred Minimum 12 months of
experience working within their specialized field. Must have worked
as an RN within their specialty within the last six months. Current
certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Experience:
Minimum 12 months of experience working within their specialized
field. Must have worked as an RN within their specialty within the
last six months. Ability to read, write, and communicate
effectively in English. Proficient with electronic health records,
communications systems, computers, etc. Note: Must maintain
licensing requirements/certification/accreditation during the
entire performance period. Must agree to a criminal background
check, and drug testing, as a prerequisite for contract
performance. Job Description: Provide care and support to patients
before, during, and after surgery. HIPPA compliance. Assist the
surgeon and the surgical team in their tasks. During surgery, pass
medical equipment and instruments to the surgeon, handle specimens,
handle patient documentation, etc. Assess patient condition before
surgery, perform comprehensive patient assessments, and ensure that
operation to be performed is correct and is being applied to the
correct patient. Take and monitor vital signs. Sterilize the
operating room and applying sterile techniques in handling medical
instruments and equipment pre-, during, and post-surgery. Prepare
the operating room for the patient/procedure. Calculate dosages and
administer medications accurately Prepare, administer (orally,
subcutaneously, through an IV), and record prescribed medications.
Stock operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens,
supplies, implants, instrumentation, etc. Monitor all equipment
during surgery. If equipment indicates adverse symptomology,
initiate corrective action. Document patient care. Evaluate
postoperative patients. Provide patients and their support system
with post-surgery care instructions. Administer emergency nursing
care as necessary. BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION: Salary DOE Benefits
