Purpose and Scope/General Summary: The R&D Director of Branded Products will lead a team of product developers at Pilgrim's, focusing on innovative product design, improvement, customer engagement, and manufacturing efficiency for poultry products. This role involves collaboration across channels including Retail and Foodservice, working closely with cross-functional teams to align research and development with company strategies.Ideal Candidate: Strong background in food product development and commercialization, with leadership and talent development experience.Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop Food Technologists to create new products, ensuring best-in-class commercialization and data management, supporting retail and foodservice sectors.
• Promote a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Operations, FSQA, and Customer teams to identify and execute growth opportunities.
• Develop and implement R&D strategy aligned with revenue and margin goals.
• Generate new product ideas using advanced technology and optimized processes.
• Oversee product development from concept to post-launch evaluation and optimization.
• Manage project deadlines, milestones, and resource allocation in line with business objectives.
• Evaluate performance of new products and processes post-launch, making necessary adjustments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:

• Ability to collaborate effectively with operations and FSQA teams.
• Proven experience in innovative product development and commercialization.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of product development.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinker with attention to detail.
• Leadership skills that motivate and engage teams.
• Strong business acumen and strategic influence.
• Flexibility to handle diverse responsibilities as the business grows.
• 10+ years in R&D or commercialization in the food industry, with 5+ years in leadership.
• Preferred: Meat/poultry industry experience and servicing food service customers.
• Experience with project management software such as SAP, Accolade, Qlik is preferred.
• Ability to perform job functions with or without accommodations.
• Willingness to travel as needed for business purposes.Compensation and Benefits:
  • Benefits include Vision, Medical, Dental after 60 days.
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, holidays.
  • 401(k) with company match after one year.
  • Base salary: $150,000 - $170,000.
