Job Summary:
Exsera BioLabs is seeking an organized and detail-oriented
individual for the position of Specimen Intake and Record
Management Technician. In this role, the technician will be
responsible for accurately receiving, cataloging, and processing
specimens while ensuring all documentation is entered correctly
into the system. The position also requires scanning patient
reports and maintaining accurate documentation records. This is an
entry-level position suitable for individuals with a keen eye for
detail and a strong desire to learn within a dynamic laboratory or
medical setting. The technician will primarily work in the clinical
rheumatology section of Exsera but will be expected to serve as
backup for the complement section when the current specimen intake
personnel are unavailable.
The position will require early arrivals in the morning or late
hours in the evening to accommodate laboratory operations and
workflow. Due to the essential nature of the work, scheduling days
off will require coordination with the full laboratory team, except
for holidays, when the CRL section is closed.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately receive, inspect, and catalog incoming specimens in the
autoimmune section of Exsera BioLabs.
Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens according to
established protocols and enter specimen details into the
laboratory information management system (LIMS) or other tracking
software.
Scan and maintain patient reports, ensuring that all documents are
accurately stored and easily accessible. Ensure all specimen
documentation, including patient reports and specimen details, is
entered and maintained accurately in the system.
Provide backup support for the complement section of the lab as
needed, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of
operations.
Assist in troubleshooting discrepancies in specimen intake,
documentation, and scanning.
Follow laboratory safety protocols and adhere to regulatory
standards for handling and processing specimens.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to
resolve issues and track specimen status.
Participating in cross-training opportunities to gain exposure to
other laboratory sections or workflows.
Work effectively both as a team member and independently to
complete duties and assignments in a timely manner.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in
Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience in a laboratory or medical setting.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of
hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in biology or a related field.
Experience handling specimens according to laboratory safety
guidelines and regulations.
Experience with clinical lab testing.
Previous experience in a laboratory or medical setting.
Experience in data entry or using LIS (Laboratory Information
System).
Experience with scanning and maintaining documentation or
reports.
Conditions of Employment:
Ability to arrive in the lab at 7 am or earlier (or) later in the
day at noon or later.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to
multitask.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Consistency in the routine process and punctuality
Familiarity with scanning and maintaining documentation or reports
is preferred.
Good communication skills and a collaborative team player.
Willingness to take on new responsibilities and contribute to
diverse tasks within the lab.
Knowledge of basic laboratory safety procedures and techniques
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
Basic computer skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has
been established as $49,728 - $57,682.

University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of
