Bookstore Coordinator and Assistant to the Chief Operating and Compliance Officer Position :Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology is seeking a highly organized and motivated candidate to manage the operations of the bookstore and work closely with the Chief Operating and Compliance Officer. This position will coordinate the bookstore operations and provide bookkeeping and compliance support for the organization. About Bel-Rea :Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology (Bel-Rea) is an ACCSC and accredited veterinary technology, vocational training college in southeast Denver (). Since the program's launch in 1971, over 6600 students have earned an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea.With an experienced veterinary faculty, excellent curriculum, well-equipped facility, on-site and off-site labs, and extensive internship program, Bel-Rea offers traditional and non-traditional students the opportunity to gain the solid educational foundation and hands-on experience needed to launch their career in the fast-growing vet tech field.Our positive leadership and small school atmosphere encourage employees to excel in their positions and offer our students informed, pleasant, and helpful support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Bookstore Coordinator and Assistant to the Chief Operating and Compliance Officer (COCO) must be able to multitask, be detail oriented, and have a high level of professionalism. Responsibilities include:_Bookstore Coordinator: _ Coordinate with instructors to prepare their course manuals Design and order all logo related merchandise Maintain vendor relationships Order course manuals quarterly and medical/office supplies as needed (stethoscopes, protective eyewear, thermometers, bandage scissors, etc.) Perform inventory quarterly of the books, manuals, scrubs, and lab coats and annual inventory of all other items Provide approved invoices to the Chief Operating and Compliance Officer (COCO) Purchase textbooks quarterly using history and projected enrollment numbers Receive inventory into the Square POS and Shopventory systems Use POS and inventory control program to track sales, cost, inventory counts, purchase orders, markdowns, etc._Assistant to the COCO: _ Bookkeeping Duties, such as: inputting transactions into the correct ledger, reconciling bank and other accounts, processing payroll, etc Assist with accreditation efforts and reporting Communicating with appropriate contractors and/or vendors Emergency preparedness plan updates Ensuring website updates are made timely Posting on social media Reviewing school policies for needed updates Perform other duties as assigned Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, required Associate or Bachelor's Degree in retail, business administration, accounting, finance, or relevant field, preferred. 3+ years of bookstore or retail experience, preferred. 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferred. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to lift 50 pounds Confidentiality - able to effectively handle confidential and proprietary information Communication - able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, and empathetic manner Detail Oriented - proven accuracy and attention to detail Handle Emergencies or Stressful Situations - able to effectively handle emergencies or stressful situations Independent work - able to work independently with limited supervision and able to self-motivate Knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping principles Knowledge of Square POS, Shopventory, Canvas LMS (or other LMS), Populi (or other SMS), FERPA, etc. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Relationship Management - able to personally provide high level of interactive service to students, building relationships and addressing identified needs Team Player - able to work well within a small team as well as across departments Wage and Benefit Information: Wage range of $18.00 to $20.50 per hour.Benefits include paid sick days, and discounted pet medicines.Position is part-time (25 to 30 hours) with the potential to become full-time.
