Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Ground Enterprise Systems (GES) Operations Manager 3 position will be located in Aurora, CO and will report to the Operating Unit Director (OUD) serving as a key member of the OU's Leadership team. GES provides portfolio oversight and growth for multiple programs developing and sustaining mission management, control, data processing and related services for national customers. GES is headquartered in Aurora, Colorado and also has a substantial presence in Redondo Beach, California. GES tiers into the Integrated National Systems Business Unit within the Payload and Ground Systems Division of Northrop Grumman's Space Sector. The Operations Manager is a key contributor to the development and execution of organizational strategies, policies and practices to increase execution efficiency and employee engagement across the OU. The successful candidate will be able to balance management of many day-to-day OU operational rhythm tasks while also identifying opportunities to improve, streamline, and grow. This candidate will work closely with the OUD, the OU's Business Manager, and other stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure the OU's vision and objectives are clearly defined and executed.Characteristics of an Effective Operations Manager include:Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills - especially in geographically disperse and virtual environmentsHighly developed organizational and planning skills to concurrently manage a variety of tasks and shift focus easily from macro-level to micro-level topicsExpertise in prioritizing tasks, making timely decisions, and following through on commitments with excellent attention to detailAbility to clearly communicate at all levels of the organization with messages appropriately tailored based on the audienceAbility to drive clarity and accountability in team operations while also establishing positive and genuine relationships with the teamSolid understanding of program execution drivers and roles of supporting business functionsSkills to support strategic planning and business executionWillingness to tactfully expose or express opposing points of view, speak honestly, hold confidences, and provide feedback to GES OU DirectorAbility to analyze situations from several points of view and be persuasive with data-driven details and factsAbility to work in a self-directed and independent fashion - a proactive attitude to identify what needs to be done rather than waiting to be told what to doDuties and Responsibilities:Support the GES OUD in providing programmatic and organizational leadership to all levels of the organizationImprove operational efficiency of systems, processes and policies in support of the organization's mission across all areas of the GES OU organizationLead regular meetings with team to discuss issues, concerns and resolution and lead efforts to improve employee engagement across the OUDrive cadences across the OU for key deliverables including employee communications, weekly status reports, and a variety of other team responsibilitiesManage and monitor deliverables of the various functional organizations supporting the Operating UnitClosely coordinate with Mission Assurance, Global Supply Chain, Business Management, Security, Information Technology and Facilities to ensure efficient support of OU operationsLead GES OU Staffing and training efforts in collaboration with program managers and all functional organizationsWork closely with the OU Business Manager to support capital, indirect, NCTA, and other financial planning as well as manage inputs for the Internet Program Reporting System (IPRS).Lead the OU's capital process to ensure needs are properly identified, prioritized, and projects are effectively managed to closureServe as the primary delegate for the GES OU Director as needed for OU and INS level meetingsArchitect and ensure GES OU OneNote, SharePoint, and other shared resources are maintained across multiple classification systemsCollaborate with peer Operations Managers across the INS BU to affect positive change and provide BU-level supportPlan and execute strategic leadership offsite meetings for the teamFacilitate OU decision-making in a timely manner to support execution and capture timelines; resolve urgent issues affecting the business rhythm of the OUSupport preparations for and/or lead internal and external program reviews as assigned throughout the organizationWork in compliance with company policies and proceduresServe as the Business Resumption Plan (BRP) Facilitator and Crisis Management Team (CMT) representative for the OUQualificationsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited university plus at least 10 years of engineering and/or program management-related experienceKnowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations implementing best practicesAbility to effectively work across multiple organizations to form teams, gain internal support, and achieve business objectivesExcellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative management style, and an inherent drive to deliver on commitmentsPrevious experience in program or large project managementLeadership experience building effective and engaged multi-discipline teamsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsFamiliarity and willingness to work in a secure environmentCurrent Top Secret SCI Security Clearance with SSBIPreferred Qualifications:Cross-sector and/or divisional program experienceExcellent conflict management and negotiation skillsFamiliarity with INS and GES OU business portfolio and stakeholdersUnderstanding of business development and capture strategiesAbility to excel when operating in a fast pace, diverse environmentSalary Range: 158500 - 249100Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
