GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:The Technical Services Manager is an analytical position based on truths of tests and must be knowledgeable in all specifications for each product and how they pertain to each building code, IATAMO, AMMA etc. The Technical Services Manager must be knowledgeable on testing requirements and results and how these results compare to competitor products. Also, must understand the proper application of each product. Provides technical customer service, providing advice on company products and best practices to customers, distributors, sales and customer service team.

---Acts as the expert in all product related specifications per product, per building code and other standards IATMO, AMMA etc. responding to high level technical inquires regarding product and product application.---Provides correct test procedures to lab for new products and responsible for selecting the best and most cost-effective 3rd party labs for testing for code approvals.---Provide the highest level of external and internal customer service to sales, customer service team, distributors. ---Writes technical and job site letters. ---Identify and troubleshoot key customer issues.---Keep current with new products, existing products, and uses of an assortment of reference materials to ensure customer needs are met. ---Build and maintain relationships with customers, distributors and internal staff to deliver service that represents the best possible match of our capabilities to the customers needs. ---Provide after the sale support to unsatisfied customers, who have returned product. ---Works with attorney during litigation.--- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
---Minimum 10 years experience in the construction or building products industry --- Knowledge of IBC and IRC building codes---Ensures lab testing protocols and procedures comply with ASTM standards---Working knowledge of industry standards and codes ---Ability to write Technical Data Sheets for Building and Flooring Products---Work with Marketing and Sales to ensure published product data is always current and accurate ---Serve on AAMA technical committee---Ability to travel overnight as needed---Evaluation of new raw materials for proposed new products.---Oversee, coordinate, and manage product testing---Evaluate test data, communicate results, and present recommendations to management at all levels of the organization.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:---Knowledge of window flashings, crack isolation membranes, rubberized asphalt, or butyl membranes---Ability to identify and gain knowledge of competitive products in the marketplace--- Experience with Commercial Building Enclosure design and construction practices--- Must have experience in addressing job site issues, writing technical and job site letters---Experience with forensic analysis of in place systems---Must have experience with Word and Excel---Good communication skills, experience interacting with contractors, builders, applicators, owners, distributors, dealers and home owners/DIY---Ability to be versatile and work independently, while achieving results---Experience developing new building or flooring products ---Work as part of a team---Ability to work across functions of Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Ownership, HR---Design and manage product and process trials---Trade Shows o Ensure Trade Show displays are technically correct ---Ability to travel overnight as needed.

EDUCATION:4-year college technical degree required Advanced training in relevant tools and techniques
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
This position requires successful completion of pre-employment checks to include a criminal background check, drug screening and if appropriate driving/motor vehicle records checks.
