Date Posted:2024-04-15Country:United States of AmericaLocation:CO102: 16800 E Centretech Pkwy,Aurora 16800 East Centretech Pkwy Building S75, Aurora, CO, 80011 USAPosition Role Type:OnsiteAbout Us:At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling - to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. - We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. - Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.Job Description: -Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is seeking a talented Sr. Front End Processor (FEP) Engineer with experience in traditional infrastructure design to support our Linux based Front End Processing (FEP) system. -The FEP Engineer would be engaged in the design and architecture of the system and will interface both with Program IPT Management as well as team members in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) to help develop the environment from requirements.The Sr. Front End Processor (FEP) Engineer will support design, development, and implementation of traditional compute/network/storage systems for this effort. - This includes getting familiar with existing operating systems and existing server hardware designs; to emulate what is needed in the FEP environment.The Ideal candidate will be well versed in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) based environments, have a good understanding of traditional on premises Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) infrastructure systems to design, develop, and maintain the program's FEP equipment used as the interface between satellite command and control systems and Ground Terminal (GT) equipment. -Note: Some travel (up to 10%) to customer sites may be required to support deployed systems / configurations and testing.Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with design, development, implementation, and support of the on-premises Front End Processor (FEP) solution, to include Software-based FEPs (AKA: SoftFEP) or hardware-based appliance FEPs implementations
• You will configure & implement Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) scripts to manage the configuration and troubleshoot the FEP
• You will design, implement, generate code through scripting tools, test, document, and maintain the system
• You will assist with development of test and integration configurations, optimizing FEP performance across the environment
• You will provide guidance on FEP resource allocation & utilization
• You will assist engineers with tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices
• You will configure and manage network connectivity for the FEP system
• You will operate FEP hardware / software diagnostic tools
• You will setup and configure the FEP software simulator tools
• You will provide support maintenance & test activities for the factory and within operational facilitiesBasic Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizenship and current TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and 5+ years of related work experience
  • Experience with on premise RHEL Based infrastructure design
  • Experience designing an integrated system that includes network, compute, and specialized FEP equipment
  • Experience with common information system (compute and network) hardware interfaces
  • Experience with configuring and maintaining Common Cryptographic equipment in a secure environmentPreferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with verification and hardening IT systems in compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
    • Experience in Network designs and implementation
    • Experience with the Agile development lifecycle
    • Extensive Linux CLI development experience
    • Broad experience with automated infrastructure testing of large systems
    • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, which may include weekends
    • Experience using and configuring hardware (e.g., setting up system network time protocol)
    • Experience system troubleshooting in heterogeneous hardware environments
    • Experience with hardware testing
    • Experience with requirements management throughout the product development lifecycle
    • Experience participating in hardware design and development activities

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
