history.Northrop Grumman PGSD is seeking an EHS Engineer to join
the Mission Assurance team. The selected applicant will be
responsible for successfully implementing all occupational health
related programs and supporting environmental and safety
programs.Key roles and responsibilities include: Reviews and
interprets existing and proposed environmental, health, and safety
(EHS) regulations to determine applicability and impact for site
and its portfolio of programs. Develops, implements, and maintains
occupational health programs to ensure compliance, injury
prevention, and risk mitigation. Conducts qualitative and
quantitative hazard assessments to include exposure monitoring for
physical and chemical agents. Completes industrial and office
ergonomic evaluations to reduce risk factors that cause
musculoskeletal disorders. Oversees the following occupational
health programs: asbestos/lead abatement, hearing conservation,
respiratory protection, hazard communication, ventilation,
non-ionizing radiation (lasers and radiofrequency), and chemical
hygiene plans. Conducts audits and identifies actions necessary to
meet regulatory requirements. Partners with business leaders to
continuously improve the culture, awareness and accountability in
support of EHS programs. Interfaces with regulatory
representatives, senior management, the EHS Committee, and the
Emergency Response, and Crisis Management teams.Additional roles
and responsibilities may include: Supports the site's
environmental, safety, and fire protection programs. Provides
timely and accurate submission of necessary reports to the company
and regulatory agencies. Writes and updates EHS plans and
procedures. Applies for new permits and renewals. Coordinates EHS
training for employees and conducts instructor led EHS
training.Basic Qualifications for a Principal EHS Engineer:Bachelor
of Science (BS) degree in industrial hygiene, engineering,
environmental science, or a related field, and a minimum of five
(5)+ years of experience in the practice of industrial hygiene; or
a Master of Science (MS) in the same disciplines with three (3)+
years of experience in the practice of industrial
hygiene.Experience in completing industrial hygiene assessments and
sampling; assessing the health impact of physical and chemical
agents; fundamental principles of RF radiation, laser operation and
theory, and affects and control of radioactive sources.Experience
with managing various EHS compliance programs (with a specific
emphasis on occupational health) based on the review and
interpretation of EHS regulations.Experience with overseeing third
party consultants/contractors.Ability to perform job duties with
general direction and supervision and to provide technical
solutions to complex problems based on sound industrial hygiene
principles.Excellent risk communication and collaboration skills
with all levels of an organization are a must.Must have a
Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship
required) with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI.Basic
Qualifications for a Sr. Principal EHS Engineer:Bachelor of Science
(BS) degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental
science, or a related field, and a minimum of nine (9)+ years of
experience in the practice of industrial hygiene; or a Master of
Science (MS) in the same disciplines with seven (7)+ years of
experience in the practice of industrial hygiene.Extensive
experience in completing industrial hygiene assessments and
sampling; assessing the health impact of physical and chemical
agents; fundamental principles of RF radiation, laser operation and
theory, and affects and control of radioactive sources.Ability to
analyze complex problems and to develop innovative solutions based
on sound industrial hygiene principles.Extensive experience with
managing various EHS compliance programs (with a specific emphasis
on occupational health) based on the review and interpretation of
EHS regulations.Experience with overseeing third party
consultants/contractors.Experience partnering with partnering and
collaborating with all levels and functions of the
organization.Ability to perform job duties without appreciable
direction and supervision.Excellent risk communication and
collaboration skills with all levels of an organization are a
must.Must have a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret clearance
(U.S. Citizenship required) with the ability to obtain and maintain
SCI.Preferred Qualifications:Master of Science (MS) degree in an
industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, or a
related field, or currently enrolled in an MS degree program.
Certifications in environmental or safety related programs, for
example CIH, CSHM or CSP. Computer based skills specifically with
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs.Experience with
Microsoft SharePoint and Tableau.Experience with MIL-STD-882 and
interacting with systems safety engineers.Experience with Base
safety requirements and supporting EHS programs at Military
operations.Experience/knowledge of ISO 14001Salary Range: $90,600
USD - $136,000 USDSalary Range 2: $112,300 USD - $168,500
USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
