Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Site Operations Engineer to support the operations of a 24x7 critical system located at a field site located in Aurora, CO.This position will include a comprehensive, 20 week training course intended to provide "street to seat" knowledge of a complex operational system of systems. At the completion of this training, the employee will perform a set of 12 hour crew shifts and complete and on-the-job (OJT) checklist to become a certified system controller (SC).The Site Operations team is seeking an engineer who will be responsible for the following:Development of products and CONOPs for the 24x7 operation of a mission critical systemTroubleshooting of real world operations issuesTrending of operational data and simulation of products and CONOPs prior to transition to operationsReturning systems to an operational state, ensuring the health and safety of the systems while maximizing mission availabilityReview or development of standard operating procedures that are executed real time on the operational system for standard events and anomaly recoveriesDeveloping scripts and products to automate the operations of complex systemsDevelop suites of operational products for newly delivered systemsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in an STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with nine (3) years relevant professional experience within an aerospace engineering role; OR a Masters Degree in a STEM discipline with seven (2) years of relevant experience; OR a PhD with four (0) years of relevant experience.Proficiency in LinuxProficiency with basic scripting languages such as Perl or MatlabCandidate must possess at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a Single Scope Background Investigation with CI PolyOR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)Possess a fully adjudicated polygraphPreferred Qualifications:Ability and willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts which will be scheduled Monday - Friday, 5:30am to 5:30 pm, 4 days on, 4 days off including weekends and holidays for 3-9 months at a timeSignificant experience scriptingAbility to work as an effective member of a badgeless team, be self-motivated, and work under general direction while independently determining and developing approaches to solutionsExperience in the design, development, testing, calibration or operation of IR systemsExperience developing tools to support analysis of IR dataFamiliarity with key stakeholders, customers and processes in the IR communityExperience trending and troubleshooting IR systemsSalary Range: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USDSalary Range 2: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
