Report. Project Overview: The rapid growth of AI and digitalization
is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require
large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market
trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an
early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power
generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer
progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of
full EPC delivery next year. Bechtel Infrastructure’s Renewables &
Clean Power business line is seeking qualified professionals for
forthcoming combined cycle power plant projects planned in Wyoming.
The project teams will be initially based in Reston, VA or Houston,
TX; following contract award, selected candidates will relocate to
designated project sites. Job Summary: The Project Contracts
Manager will manage all subcontract-related activities for a single
major project, from initial planning through closeout. This role is
responsible for establishing project-specific procedures,
templates, and staffing plans, and will oversee the formation,
award, and execution of contracts. The position includes leadership
of the subcontracts team (formation and administration specialists)
and requires strong collaboration with supply chain, project
management, and other functions to ensure successful delivery.
LI-JL1 Major Responsibilities: Project Setup & Planning Develop
project-specific contract strategies, procedures, and templates.
Create staffing plans and allocate resources for contract formation
and administration. Execution & Closeout Oversee administration of
contracts throughout the project lifecycle. Manage claims,
amendments, and final closeout activities. Cross-Functional
Collaboration Interface closely with Project Management to align
contract activities with project objectives. Maintain awareness of
when to involve Legal for risk mitigation and contractual
interpretation. Reporting & Governance Maintain accurate records
and prepare reports on contract status, risks, and KPIs. Support
audits and ensure adherence to approved budgets and schedules.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities Education and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Law, Quantity
Surveying, Engineering or other applicable field as well as 20
years of experience in commercial or contracts management. Required
Knowledge and Skills: Extensive Bechtel experience in contracts or
subcontracts management on major projects. Strong leadership,
negotiation, and risk management skills. Proficiency in contract
law and project execution frameworks. Experience with large-scale
EPC or infrastructure projects. Knowledge of Bechtel systems and
processes.
