Sign-on bonus will be issued in two installments: the first half following 90 days of employment, the second half on the pay period following 180 days of employment, less payroll deductions and all required withholdings.SUMMARYInstructors' primary responsibilities are to provide active and effective learning for students in all applicable educational settings, act as professional and academic role models and commit to student satisfaction. This includes; teaching in classrooms, labs, clinical and online settings as well as outside the classroom during campus and student activities. All Concorde associates are required to display professionalism and uphold Concorde's Mission and the core values of respect for the individual, integrity, teamwork, customer service, and achievement.The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor ensures the students are educated in both didactic and Lab material. The primary focus is to prepare the students for their clinical experience with lab practice, classroom lectures and simulated learning. All faculty must be familiar with program goals, be able to demonstrate the ability to develop an organized plan of instruction and evaluation, and have appropriate credentials for the learning areas they teach.INSTRUCTIONAL DUTIESInstruct classes as assignedPrepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student materialPrepare lesson plans and course material as requiredObjectively assess students for academic performanceEffectively organize and present subject matter to studentsEffectively utilize instructional plans providedSupplement approved student material as requiredEnsure security of assessment tools and confidential documentationEffectively utilize and monitor the learning management systemsEnsure classes are conducted for the required length of timeSTUDENT INTERACTIONThe instructional staff must be responsible for providing didactic content, evaluating students, reporting progress, and for the periodic review and updating of course materialMaintain a classroom environment conducive to learningSet the example and be the role model for professionalism and conductProvide regular and constructive feedback, through approved channels, to students regarding academic performance, grades, professionalism, conduct, attendance and other topics as necessaryProactively inform Program Director of any student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns for retention managementAppropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracyEnsure compliance with the published attendance policy including recording and posting dailyFacilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed, ensuring and monitoring student participationRefer students to the Program Director and/or Academic Dean if additional advising is necessaryRefer students having excess of three (3) absences to the Program Director or Academic DeanRemain in classrooms for all assigned instructional timesAdhere to classroom break schedules as per policyDocument all relevant student contact in CampusNexus including calling students (1st hour 1st call)Enforce CSC and campus policies (dress code, cell phone usage, etc.)RELATED DUTIES, OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOMRecord keeping, scanning, etc.Stay informed of current standards related to instructional methodologyParticipate in and document ongoing faculty and professional development activities including any Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that may be required for certification or licensure where required by lawAttend outside workshops and seminars to improve instructional and professional skillsAttend orientations, staff meetings, and faculty meetings as scheduledAssist with preparations for graduation ceremoniesAttend graduation ceremonies as requestedParticipate in student and campus activities as requested (Lamplighter nominations, field trips, community activities, etc.)Assist in inventory, organization and ordering of supplies and classroom materialMaintain classrooms in a neat and orderly fashionAssist in maintenance of equipment and technologyReport any non-functioning equipment to the Program Director or Academic DeanMaintain a professional, enthusiastic, and positive attitude; contribute to a positive campus cultureAssist financial aid and administrative departments by providing information and coordinating appointments as neededAssist with student recognition as requestedAssist in Clinical or Externship site visits and development as neededPerform other duties, as assigned*Sign-on bonus will be issued in two installments: the first half following 90 days of employment, the second half on the pay period following 180 days of employment, less payroll deductions and all required withholdings.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAssociate Degree in a related fieldMinimum credentials of Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)Four years of professional experience as a cardiac sonographer and pediatric cardiac sonographer is requiredTeaching/Management experience preferredExperience with educating students in a clinical setting preferredStarting Compensation: $57,000Hourly Compensation: $27.72 - $41.58
