Job Description Job Description Licensed Journeyman Electrician – Commercial & Residential Location: Dillon CO and surrounding areas Pay: $32–$41 per hour (DOE) Schedule: Full-time | Consistent, year-round work About the Role We are hiring a Licensed Journeyman Electrician to support a growing electrical contractor performing a mix of commercial and residential electrical work throughout Northern Colorado. This role offers steady hours, diverse job sites, and the opportunity to work on everything from residential remodels to commercial tenant improvements and service work. This is a direct-hire opportunity through our staffing services. Opportunity to operate a company-provided service van and work closely with a small, skilled team that values quality, safety, and accountability. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance for commercial and residential projects Complete work on new construction, remodels, service calls, and tenant improvements Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job specifications Install conduit, wiring, panels, fixtures, and electrical equipment Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues safely and efficiently Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and safety standards Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and clients Maintain tools, materials, and company vehicle Additional Duties Pull wire and install conduit in walls, ceilings, crawl spaces, and attics Install and connect breakers, transformers, motors, grounding systems, and control equipment Test electrical systems using meters and diagnostic tools Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards or code issues Train or assist apprentices as needed Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working on roofs Assist with emergency service work when required Qualifications Active Colorado Journeyman Electrician License (required) Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 5 years of hands-on commercial and/or residential electrical experience Strong understanding of NEC and local electrical codes Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented What’s Offered Competitive hourly pay: $32–$41/hour , based on experience Company service van for job-related travel (when necessary) Benefits package including health insurance and 401(k) Steady work across Northern Colorado Small-company environment with a wide variety of project types Additional Tasks: * Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. May install or service street lights, intercom systems, or electrical control systems. * Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes. * Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. * Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. * Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps. * Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools. * Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. * Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations. * Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. * Direct or train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. * Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. * Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. * Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. * Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors. * Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. * Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools. * Construct or fabricate parts, using hand tools, according to specifications. * Provide preliminary sketches or cost estimates for materials or services. * Perform business management duties, such as maintaining records or files, preparing reports, or ordering supplies or equipment. * Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets. * Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects. * Provide assistance during emergencies by operating floodlights or generators, placing flares, or driving needed vehicles.
