The Barbara Davis Center - Pediatric Clinic has an opening for a part-time University Staff (unclassified) Administrative Assistant I position.

This class describes the entry level. Work is designed to train positions for a higher level in the class series. Although tasks are similar to those of the fully-operational level, assignments are structured and performed with direction and assistance from others. Positions carry out established work processes and operations by learning to apply and follow procedures, techniques, rules, and regulations. Once training has been completed, the position is to be moved to the next level. Positions should not remain in this class indefinitely.
Position Emphasis: The Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes (University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus) is looking for an individual to add to our team. The primary purpose of this job is to outreach to families via phone to schedule routine clinical follow up appointments. Part of scheduling appointments will be pre-visit planning which includes asking patients and patient families how the center can best serve them during their appointment and collaborating with all patient care team personnel.

  • Part-time (1-2 days a week, flexible on days)
  • 90% remote with potential for 10% in clinic
  • Conducting outreach to patients and patient families
  • Discussing what is needed from patient care team for appointment visits

    Salary and Benefits:
    The salary range ( or the hiring range) for this position is established at $14.75 per hour to $16.30 per hour.
    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
    The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
    This position may be eligible for overtime compensation.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • One year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Substitution: Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis (i.e. high school diploma or GED, etc.).
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Secondary degree
      • BLS certified
      • Type 1 diabetes experience
      • Knowledge in diabetes technology
      • Patient care experience (EMT)
      • Spanish speaking
      • Prior experience in administrative and/or clerical setting preferred
      • Prior experience using Electronic Medical Records systems preferred Competencies
        • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
        • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
        • Outstanding customer service skills.
        • Attention to detail
        • Demonstrated commitment and ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
        • Ability to type accurately
        • Demonstrate problem solving skills
        • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the desire to assist patients
