and our experiences. Position Overview The Staff Accountant plays a
key role on the Finance and Accounting team and is responsible for
performing core accounting functions with minimal supervision. This
role supports accurate financial reporting, compliance, and
continuous improvement of accounting processes, and collaborates
regularly with leadership and cross-functional teams. Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Prepare and record complex
journal entries in accordance with GAAP • Perform monthly balance
sheet, bank, and payroll reconciliations • Own portions of the
month-end and year-end close processes • Review accounts payable
and accounts receivable activity for accuracy • Analyze general
ledger accounts and research discrepancies and variances • Prepare
audit schedules and support external auditors and tax advisors •
Assist with budget development, forecasting, and financial
reporting • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting
policies • Recommend and implement process improvements • Maintain
confidentiality of sensitive financial and payroll information •
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Required
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • 3–6
years of progressive accounting experience • Solid working
knowledge of GAAP • Strong Excel skills and experience with general
ledger systems • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and
meet deadlines • High attention to detail with strong analytical
skills • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Ability to
work independently in a collaborative environment What We're
Looking For • Experience in nonprofit, professional services, or
government contracting • Familiarity with payroll, benefits, and
multi-entity accounting • Experience supporting audits or
compliance reviews • Power BI skills and experience • CPA or
CPA-track preferred Physical Requirements • Prolonged periods of
computer-based work • Workload may increase during periods of
month-end, year-end, and/or audit periods • Communicating
effectively via phone, in person, and through virtual
communications such as Microsoft Teams • Visual ability to read
financial reports, spreadsheets, and data on a computer screen for
extended periods • Ability to focus and concentrate on detailed
work for extended periods of time Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming
office - this an in-office position Schedule: Normal hours are
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week Salary Range: $60,000 -
$90,000 annually, compensation will be determined based on
