Job Description Job Description We are looking for an
experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis
in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role will be instrumental in
maintaining financial accuracy and supporting audit processes for a
nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in
nonprofit accounting, proficiency in Sage Intacct, and a commitment
to upholding financial integrity. Responsibilities: • Execute and
manage month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate
financial reporting. • Oversee accounts payable processes,
including reviewing and approving bills for payment. • Prepare
audit-related schedules and documentation, and coordinate responses
to auditor inquiries. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger
accounts, including posting journal entries. • Collaborate with
leadership and program managers to ensure compliance with nonprofit
policies and financial regulations. • Monitor fund accounting
activities and ensure adherence to grant reporting requirements. •
Identify and implement improvements for accounting processes to
enhance operational efficiency. • Provide mentorship and guidance
to less experienced accounting staff as needed. • Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • A minimum of 5 years
of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in
a nonprofit setting. • Proficiency in Sage Intacct. • Demonstrated
knowledge of month-end close processes, accounts payable
management, and audit preparation. • Strong attention to detail and
organizational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced
environment. • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
to work effectively across teams. • Experience with grant reporting
and nonprofit financial compliance is highly desirable.
